Chapter 137: Once and for All

The voice floating from ST04's radio was equally frantic.

'ST04! This is the Grand Master! Retreat! Return to HQ! I repeat! ST04, retreat!'

Why would she retreat? Was Cadeyrn so pathetic that even with his Peons and the soldiers under his command, he couldn't handle Jamie?

Raidne, Dixie and Leroy made it past the legions of Peons in the entrance hall to the gate. One of the Shadow Lucario left a huge gash on Leroy's arm. A soldier almost stabbed Raidne in the neck from behind, but he was slammed to the ground by falling feet first. Jamie hurled the next attacker over his shoulder. There was a moment of tense silence as all the rumbling feet seemed to suddenly freeze.

'What? Y'all are that scared of GoD?'

'So sorry, sweetie.'

Dixie glanced at Raidne, but the voice came from behind. The frozen Peons and soldiers weren't scared of Jamie. Their eyes flitted from Raidne to a familiar figure in a fluorescent orange jail uniform.

'But I am so going to have to crash your little party.'

'W-w-what the hell?!'

A confused Peon was the first to speak. 'Why – why are there two of you?!'

'You are all really so stupid, aren't you? You actually believe my ugly sister is me? I will so have to punish you lots.'

Jamie glanced at Raidne. No-one else understood what that look meant, but she apparently did.

'Who let you out?' Raidne demanded, 'You are so Raidne! I so thought my sad little minions at Team Magma were keeping you in check, but I am so going to have to punish them lots. You really believe you can compare to me? The so very ugly little sister that Mom never wanted?'

Dixie understood now. 'Wait, what? You're Leucosia, aren't you?'

The only way to prove which was Raidne was to wipe off the make-up covering her tattoo. Leucosia knew that, but the guards did not. She sent out a Marshtomp. Whoever let her out must have given it to her. As soon as water hit Raidne's arm, her cover would be blown, but the guards couldn't attack until they were sure Leucosia was actually Leucosia. In that moment of confusion, neither Leucosia nor the guards noticed Jamie sprinting off to the main hall. There was no-one guarding it. They were all relying on the stronger guards outside to dispose of the spies.

The ground shook. Glass shattered. Jamie opened a can of gasoline for Swoobat to spray it everywhere. Flames burst from the broken windows. A truck screeched to a halt. Sunlight gleamed on Kazuya's badge.

'International Police! You answer to us before the Governor of Orre!'

Some of the soldiers were consciously corrupt, but others genuinely believed the building was a government facility threatened by the 'Alfie clan.' Those who were corrupt didn't want jail time. They feigned confusion, but as soon as Kazuya directed them into the truck, Zileh handcuffed them.

The people inside were already weak after trying and failing to stop the spies. Now the place was on fire. There was no ST04 or even any of their vaunted Admins to stall Jamie. He didn't care who used to serve him. He bound their limbs and told Electivire to toss them onto the growing pile outside without even glancing at their faces. With the hall clear, Electivire tore out the hidden elevator.

Swoobat dropped Jamie on the floor below. Electivire jumped down after them. A stampede of fleeing scientists, clinging to what little they could carry, approached. Jamie let them pass. They would only end up in the truck. He heard people complaining that Cadeyrn was probably hiding, looking innocent in his Phenac office, to protect himself and his reputation... but Jamie was sure he wasn't. This was far too easy. There was no way the Cadeyrn he met, greedily surveying Obsidian City, would give up just like that. He was letting this happen because he had a plan.
