Hello beautiful readers, he's chapter 13!!
Enjoy!!!
Bruce's POV
As I walked home, I couldn't get Maddie's escape room out of my mind. The guitars on the walls, the large black piano in the corner. A picture of her and Penny. Maddie's expression when we talked about Penny.
I watched her leave me in the hallway with Bella.
Why did I make her relive those moments? She took me into that room, to let me into her personal space, and I told her to call Penny. But the look on her face when she said she missed those little moments with her, it made me wonder how strong their bond was before she moved here. She does miss Penny with those little moments; she just can't accept it. I've never seen her smile so much when she told me about how she and Penny used to mess up the chords of their favorite songs.
I'll think about it.
All I want is to see her happy. I can't stand and watch the girl of my dreams cry and sob. I pulled out my phone and looked for Penny's Instagram. I could text her to meet me later after school and we talk about Maddie.
When I was about to turn home, I noticed a Toyota Hilux turn towards Maddie's street. They pulled over and saw Dylan in the driving seat.
"Hey! Late night walk?" He asked.
"No, just walking from Maddie's place. Where are you going at this time?"
"To see her actually. We planned to go star gazing, so I'm taking her somewhere," He replied.
Wait! What? Is this a date or something? They are going somewhere at night to see the sky. Maddie never mentioned that she was going out. With him? Does her like her? So many questions are in my mind and I have little answers. I swiped my phone to check the time, 8:30.
"I have to go, see you tomorrow," Dylan rolled up the window and drove off. Does he like her? I hit the call app and looked for Harvey's number. I entered the house and when straight to my room.
"Sup Bruce!" Harvey said.
"Hi. You know Dylan Mc' Gavin?" I sat on my deck in the corner of my room and opened Instagram and the school website.
"Yeah. He's in my second period Math. Nice guy. Why?"
"He's going to Maddie's house now. He said that they are going 'star gazing'." I put imaginary high quotes. There was silence then laughter. "You think this is funny?"
"Yes, I do. Let me get this straight; You think that they are going to see the sky, as a date? You think that Dylan likes her?" More laughter.
"Don't you?" I asked.
"No, I don't. Yes, they hang out a lot together since he came but he's nice. And I don't think she likes him. You're just worried for nothing," Harvey said.
"Have you seen his latest post o Instagram?" I sat back in my chair and looked at the picture of him and Maddie at the store, wearing matching glasses.
"You're on his Instagram?" Harvey laughed. "You're desperate."
"I'm being careful," I stated.
"That what, he does take the girl of your dreams?" He spoke. "Have you even seen the caption below?" I didn't. I leaned closer to the screen to see the caption below.
Matching with my sis ;-)
"He's her brother?" I asked.
"No birdbrain. They think of each other as siblings. He lost his sister when he was little. So, when she found out, she asked if they could be their lost siblings. You know Maddie, she likes to make people feel better," Harvey explained. It made sense now. They were going as friends. That brought a load of relief.
