"So, shall we leave now?" Ansela frowned at Arimia, lifting her backpack.
"Just two minutes." Arimia pulled the lace of her boot and tied it up.
"This is the tenth time you said so."
"It's done." Arimia jumped to her feet and pulled her backpack towards her.
"Good, now let's go."
"As they stepped down the staircase slowly, the old man emerged before them.
"Miss, are you two leaving?
No, we are going to stay here forever. Ansela frowned. But since her face was covered with the shadow of a nearby tall pillar, the man could not see it.
"Yes."
"Isn't it too early?" His eyes reflected a sign of fear. "The white Serpent hovers around until the sun rises.
"But we need to go. And, we can take care of ourselves." She said, showing a hand into a pocket.
"But you two are girls. What can two girls do against a giant, dreadful serpent?"
Arimia and Ansela shared a look their eyes burning in anger
Is it fair that thinking a girl can't take care of herself?
"Let's go." Arimia handed the key to the old man and drag Ansela with her.
About half an hour later, they could be seen driving through a jungle area. The trees were silhouetted against the sky. Erasing the grey colour on the sky, a bright golden light was slowly spreading on the eastern sky.
Ansela put her eyes out of the landscape. "What if we are going on the wrong way?"
"We are not," Arimia said staring at the way. "Take that compass on the dashboard she pulled her hand and to the flat round object, the wooden surface was etched with a dragon and had polished well.
A black-and-white coated needle was set in the centre of a circular hole අith a radius of about two centimetres and about half a centimetre deep. The circular hole was divided into two parts by a lightning bolt drawn in silver, and the parts were painted white and black.
"People Finding compass," Arimia whispered. "I and that girl, we worked together to build this... And this is the only memory I have to memorize her."
"Did you like her?"
"I don't know exactly. The only thing I know is it was not just an attraction."
Ansela blinked, gulping. "How does this work?"
"I have put all the details we got, and if we can connect this to the blood trace, this will help us instead of Shenmi."
"Why didn't you tell me that before?"
"I remembered about it last night when you were sleeping. So I didn't want to spoil your peaceful sleep."
"Oh. So... How does this work?"
"When we enter the details of the person we want to find, this compass will show us the directions. Tell me to where the white side of the needle is pointed."
"Now it is pointed to forward." Ansela pulled her hand forward.
"Then the path we are going is correct. But can we trust this? We better verify it by using blood trace."
"Um... Well, we could not test it that much... But this works so well with a radius of fifty metres."
"Are you sure?"
