Esme Ambrose (POV)
I backed up again.
Many thoughts come into mind.
Why do I keep running into him?
How long was he standing there?
Do I have this class with him?
"S-sorry." That's all I could say.
He looked at the stairs then back at me, he wanted to say something but nothing came out. Just like that he quickly went up the stairs, like he wasn't even thinking about what had happened. I mean it must've been more traumatizing for him.
I clutched my bag again before following him. I really do have him for this class and that wasn't the only surprise. Juliet was in this class too and even had a seat opened next to her.
There were only two seats left, that one and another one next to some random Slytherin. The professor of the class directed Draco and I to sit, "I was getting worried about you both, Mr. Malfoy next to... ah- Ms. Green and Ms. Ambrose next to this young man here."
I felt my stomach turn, Draco's didn't have to mine was already doing it for him. I was about to go when I noticed Draco wasn't moving, he didn't want to sit there. Who can fucking blame him?
Not only did she scar him for the rest of his life but her mother was doing the same thing, all because he didn't want any more conflict from his dad.
I realized we were both standing there as I took my glance off Draco, the professor asked, "Do I need to repeat myself?"
It wasn't in a snarky tone but from the look on Draco's voice he took it that way, "Please go to your seats so I can begin our lesson."
I looked at Draco, he was so conflicted. He was masking his emotions the best he could but only I can see how badly he did not want to go near her. My direction was now at Juliet who just sat there, blankly. She flipped her hair over now looking at Draco like he has to sit there.
Draco was finally taking a few steps before I said, "Excuse me professor... if it's no trouble I would actually like to sit in that spot."
I didn't have to turn around I could already feel Draco looking at me.
"Your reason being Ms. Ambrose?"
Trust me, I don't plan on talking to her one bit.
"My eyesight isn't the best." I lied.
"Alright hurry along then." Luckily, he just wanted to get class started already.
I went towards my seat, walking by Draco who had some relief on his face. I can still tell he wanted to say something, looking at the gulp in his throat but turned the opposite direction.
He was at least saying stuff to me before this class but now? Not a word.
I pulled out the chair that was right by Juliet, fixing my skirt to sit down. I wasn't happy about this one bit and even if I'm nothing towards Draco anymore I wouldn't let her near him ever, something that should've been done a long time ago.
The professor was just lecturing basic information and the format of his class, luckily Juliet hasn't said a word. I hope it stays that way for the rest of the semester.
I managed to do some homework since the class was pretty boring as I looked up from my paper I caught Draco basically glaring at me. He looked mad but hurt at the same time. I don't know why I was getting that look from him, it was the last thing I expected.
He looked away putting his head down for the rest of class. Once it was over, he was the first to walk out. I took off, trying not to give Juliet a reason to talk to me because I don't want to hear anything especially coming from her.
