CHAPTER-14

                                    

                                          
"In three to four hours James was done with surgery of the patient successfully, I was still unable to trace the idea of James's taking me with him to operation theatre. We were about to leave the operation theatre when we heard the patient breathing unhealthily. We turned and saw the declining pulse on the monitor. James immediately ordered the nurse to start defibrillator........" Emily continues to recite her story and Sanjh now was patiently listening.
"Even in between the shocks from defibrillator the patient stopped breathing and I lost the hope that he is no more. But.... James kept on trying and trying by giving shocks of high voltage to him and with final voltage his body lifted up with a jerk......" Emily's voice was relieved this time.
"He survived....." Sanjh said smilingly her back facing her.
"Yeah ! All thanks to James that he didn't gave up on him. He did post surgery deeds and then we went to his cabin and the worst memories started flashing in front of my eyes........... " Emily's eyes became watery again.
"Why did he took you to OT ? " Sanjh asks cluelessly.
"I asked him the same question." Emily said continuing the story.
"He told me that he took me with him because he wanted to show me.... teach me that every person and every relationship deserves the second chance. He told me that if I will not give him a chance to explain his side of story then he will not be the only one who will die of separation and guilt but I will also die in separation and that is true. Though I was hurt by his action but I still love him.........." Emily's words made Sanjh clear about her motive to tell her story today. 
"And I gave him that chance.... I gave a chance to our relationship. He explained everything about that incident that he was not at fault on that day it was that bitch who seduced him, he pushed her away but till the time I saw all that and misunderstood things......." Emily said proudly.
"You know what.... I am glad that I gave him that chance because now he is not with us in this world but his precious memory..... Our Olivia is with me......" Emily said happily.
Sanjh turned to her with watery eyes but didn't utter a word. Silence took over the place.
"Every relation deserves a second chance..... specially when it's your love my dear. Trust me ! Sarthak is the one for you........ " Emily said cupping her face and coming to her level she sat beside her.
Sanjh gave her confusing look because she never told her about Sarthak. They never had word about her past. How she came to know about Sarthak and about Sanjh's feelings for him....? 
"I met him.... I met him on the day when he dropped Olivia at our place. His eyes told everything how much he feels for you.... how much he loves you. From my motherly instinct I can say that he is the only one for you..... I don't know about the past of you two but the thing I know is that he is madly in love with you. Give him a chance.... He deserves that. " Emily completed.
Emily's words gave relief to Sanjh. She is now out of her delima of going back to India with him or not. She is relieved but confused at the same time..........
How would she told him that she wants to accompany him back to India ? Does he still want her back with him? What is the guarantee that history won't repeat itself ?
"But I don't know how......." Sanjh said honestly.
"You just need to hear your inner consciousness and everything will be sorted out........." Emily said with big bunny smile.
Before Sanjh could say something she was cut off by Olivia who came with a glass of water and some medicine in her hand.
"I hope you guys are done with your mother daughter talks. Here you go..... Your medicine....." She said giving medicines to Sanjh. Both the ladies got up. Emily took seat on sofa and Sanjh stood at her place.
