So in this chapter, a character is being added for the sake of the plot. So that you know, Japan actually does have an emperor, his name I think is like Naruhito so that's the important character for this chapter. Just try to remember that once I mention Naruhito, its just the name of Japan's emperor.
"Is anyone still wondering who Ochaco is dating now?" Asked Kaminari. Izuku spoke up, avoiding all the other questions about his marriage. "She's with that frog, Asui. At least we know Ochaco likes the colour green." He said turning his gaze to Ochaco with a smile. People were now glaring at both Ochaco and Asui. "Anyway." Izuku continued, with a clap of his hands, he returned his attention to his doppelganger. "I believe it was your turn for Truth or Dare. So ask away." Izuku finished. Meanwhile his doppelganger was still processing the relationship between his doppelganger and Todoroki's doppelganger. Midoriya shook his head but before he could ask anything, Katsuki spoke up. "Izuku why don't you take this time to explain another one of your mysteries. What's with the speakers?" Shouto looked at the speaker he wore on his side. "Not even I know the real reason for it, but I would love to know, Izuku."
Izuku took the speaker that was attached to his pants, and held it in his hands. It was still playing music softly as Izuku looked down at it. He hummed along to the song for a second before replying. "The music keeps the voices out of my head, I've killed so many people, their last words and screams still haunt me sometimes. I've got the music to drown it out and it helps me think. The speaker was also the last thing my mother gave me before she hung herself." Izuku explained. He let the speaker fall to his side again as he let go of it and looked up. The people around him seemed saddened and shocked by Izuku's newest recollection. The ones who wore their own speakers realized how important the speakers actually were to Izuku at that moment. During the time in this alternate universe, they were all learning more and more about Izuku's past, and how it was almost finally behind him, Izuku would be done work as a hitman by the time they returned to their universe, finally being free of this terrible job. Both him and his step brother, Hitoshi, would no longer have to work this job they both hated so much.
The few days more that they spent in the alternate universe were full of fun times and bonding of sorts. They all even exchanged numbers, and the five from the alternative universe were added to a class group chat to keep in touch. Soon though, it was time for them to return, there were only five more minutes until they would be sent back to their own universe as that's how the quirk worked. Their goodbyes were long and heartfelt, as they thought they would never be seeing each other again. Eijiro and Kirishima cried so called 'manly' tears, they said goodbye as they hugged one last time. While Izuku wasn't that into hugging so he just shook a few hands and said his goodbyes.
The music on his speaker was playing a recognizable song and some hummed along to it, Izuku said one last thing to the group from the universe he was visiting. "I know we'll probably never see each other again, but I'll try to change that. I'm sure with my quirk I may be able to return here again." Izuku said, looking down to his gauze covered hand, he looked up to meet the faces of his doppelganger and everyone else. "It was great meeting you all. I hope to see you all again in the future." Izuku smiled and him, Shouto, Katsuki, Eijiro, and Hitoshi waved as a bright light filled the room. Some covered their eyes due to the light, but when the light disappeared, so had the five from the alternative universe. They had returned home. Kaminari then whispered "Whoa."
Once the five had returned to their universe, there was no group waiting for them to return. Instead, their classmates and teachers stayed huddled around the common room TV. Izuku could hear the muffled voices of the news on the TV. The five who had just returned glanced at each other, wondering what had happened while they were gone. Izuku then heard the name 'Naruhito'. This prompted Izuku to take a step closer to the TV and read the title of the current story. On the TV there was a live video of police surrounding a warehouse that was by boat docks. The headline read 'Japan's Emperor Naruhito held for ransom.' Izuku's blood ran cold and he knew what he needed to do.
One and a half years ago.
Izuku and Hitoshi were being sent to meet the emperor of Japan today at the request of their step father, Japan's Prime Minister. They were currently following one of the secretaries to the Emperor. She stopped and opened a door and showed them inside. "Naruhito will be here shortly." She informed them, Izuku nodded in return and she closed the door and left. It was certainly a nice room, coloured in red and gold. The desk where Naruhito would presumedly be sitting at soon was made of what looked to be mahogany wood. Once Naruhito arrived, they all sat down and introduced themselves, Izuku was still using his telepathy quirk to speak, which the Emperor mentioned was a cool ability.
One comment stuck in Izuku's head for the remainder of the meeting though. Naruhito had told both him and Hitoshi something Izuku was happy to hear.
"I've seen the villains you two have helped bring down, I'm very impressed, as well as I am gratified with Japan's greatest enemies being brought down making Japan safer. I am in debt to you two, you're real heroes that Japan needed. If you two ever do decide to go public about your job's and set the news straight about who you actually kill, you will have my full support. I do hope that one day the people of Japan will see you two for who you actually are; Heroes."
Present day
He used his portal quirk to grab his phone and quickly dialled a number. Shouto whispered over to Izuku as he lifted the phone up to his ear to speak, "Izuku, is everything ok?" He asked. Izuku turned to look at Shouto and shook his head. He then walked away from the common room TV to hear his phone better.
Izuku had called the Prime Minister "Listen, I know you said that my last job was in the alternate universe, but with these people holding the Emperor and an old friend of mine, Naruhito for ransom, of course I'm going to have to help." Izuku said into his phone as he tried to pinpoint where Naruhito was being held from the news. "Izuku— you may end up being caught—" Izuku cut him off. "You were going to tell all of Japan I was a hitman anyway in a few days. I know Naruhito and if I get caught, he may just have to explain my job for you." Izuku paused "I'm not just going to left people die because of my selfishness and my hatred for this job, we can just make this my last job instead. I'll get him out." Izuku ended the call just before his step father could say anymore.
