The next morning was more normal than I had expected. I woke up and Minho wasn't next to me anymore. I had mentally prepared myself for the awkwardness this morning but no. I frowned at the sight of his empty spot.
I decided not to give it much importance. While I got ready and got my runner clothes ready, I remembered that I wasn't going to the maze today either. Regardless, I still changed.
Down in the homestead Newt, Alby and Minho were sitting together. Then I saw Gally by himself. I stood there not knowing what to do. I knew I had to sit with Gally to speed up this information gathering process but sitting with Minho sounded a million times better.
I got it! I'll just go to Gally, make a fake speech about restoring our friendship and then go with Minho and Newt.
As I walked towards Gally, Minho's eyes were following me. I sat next to Gally.
"Hey." I said nervously. But I had nothing to be nervous about. Minho knew why I would do this, he won't mind.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be sitting with them?" He pointed towards Minho's table.
"Yeah but I just wanted to clarify that I'm not angry at you. And yes, we can still be friends if you promise not to make another scene like that. I know you have those feeling for me and your, you know, jealous. But Minho is the Keeper of the runners and I have to have some respect for him. I'm also not a trophy for you to win. I'm not looking for someone to have a love relationship with. We're in a god damn Maze and getting out should be our number one priority." I said sternly. I was surprised at my own words. I'm so mischievous. I almost feel bad.
"Yeah. I promise. I'm sorry again." He smiled.
"Good." I smiled at the fact that I handled that like a boss. I said everything I had rehearsed a second before I said it. Though it was mostly lies. I didn't want Gally to hurt Minho because I like him. And I wouldn't hesitate to have relationship with Minho.
"I'll see you later then?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm not going into the maze today either."
"Ok." At that I got up and got my breakfast. I sat to the right of Newt. In front of me was Minho and Alby to his right.
"What was that about?" Minho asked.
"I'm doing that little job Alby so generously gave me without asking." I said sarcastically.
"Good." Alby grunted as he ate.
"What did you tell him?" Newt asked.
"None of your business, nosy." I turned to Newt.
"Just let her do what she thinks is right. She's smart enough." Minho said, his word surprised me but I felt relief at the same time.
"Fine." We all continued eating.
While Alby and Minho talked about something Newt whispered in my ear,
"Tell me when he leaves." I nodded once.

After I said bye to Minho and he ran into the maze I went to find Newt.
"Hey!" He said from behind me before I found him. He was looking for me as well.
"Hey." I said and we walked around the Glade.
"What did you say to Gally?" He asked curiously.
"Just a load of bull crap." I said quickly.
"Really?" He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yeah, look, I know what I'm doing." I assured him.
"Athy, I don't think you do." He shook his head.
