I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Then made short and still exhale, all the while trying to steady my hands, with little success.
I could feel it, the pressure, the tension in the room was unyielding. The piercing staring from the upper floors only served to make the anxiety worst.
I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins, as every move I made afterwards was accelerated. As I reached for the handle of the entrance my mind became fully focused and with only one thing in mind. That is to face what was waiting for me beyond that door.
I pulled the lever down and rush towards the light, with no idea of what danger lies ahead. In almost an instant, my eyes adjusted and began to take mental notes of this war zone.
I heard a loud sound echoed, as the bright red flashes from the emergency light spurred me into action.
My eyes quickly gazed across the landscape and identified 8 men. They were scattered across the obstacle course, I took detailed notes of sectionals and dried walls.
And approximately 30 feet above the room were vehicle varying in sizes, just hanging there by worn out cables.
Ignoring the clear sign of danger I dived into action with nothing to lose.Only clinching to a promised made by the good doctor.
"When you feel like everything is moving too fast, just recite these three words. "Initiate Access Code".
Whatever that meant or was supposed to do, was still a mystery to me.
All I knew, a few years ago, I was a child who was bed ridden, and was casted away by my family.
Now I'm reckless kid who acts first and thinks afterwards.
"Thanks to the good doctor I was able to get a second chance, and I will not disappoint him".I heard a screeching sound from up above, I flinched and quickly looked up, this was the signal from the cables, warning me that the first vehicle was on its way, spiraling downwards towards me.
I then realized that if I didn't do something, and fast I would have been crushed.
In a split second my legs carried me away from the incoming danger, before I completed the thought my body had already executed the action.I then realized that the last drug allow me to think and implement actions simultaneously. So this is the effects of the 'A9' batch, (I thought to myself).
I was able to react in time to evade the falling car. I was able to identify the material that constructed the obstacles course along with all the armed men in the space, which was even more surprising to me.
Simply because they were equipped with ballistic vest, in a deep black and grey camo long sleeve shirt and pants. Since there was no part of them exposed, except for their eyes. The combat boots were a give away, that these men were no normal men.
They were actually trained professionals.Blocking the entrance to the second floor was a mountain of a man. He stood tall at 6 feet 3 inches, he was between the weight of 250 - 260lbs. Getting past him was going to be a challenge.
I decided the best course of action would be to slip past him, and head for the entrance.
The objective was clear and that was to complete the course.
The time was irrelevant, however since I've already managed to clear this floor within 2 hours before. A lesser time would sure to be accomplishment. In one accord my mind, heart & body concluded It was best to avoid the giant at all cost by slipping past him.
I advanced towards the entrance, A loud explosion was released from a muzzle, followed by the echoing sound, that was it, I'm sure that was the sound of shots.Relentlessly I kept charging forward, the vehicle hit the ground right behind me, as the force of the impact, propelled me forward.
In this section of the course only one armed male was guarding the entrance.
