Cherry
A lot of people were at my gate. People with useful, powerful-looking quirks. Maybe I wasn't cut out for Ua.
I shook those thoughts away.
I made a promise to myself, I can't let it go to waste now. We had been given time to change into the clothes we would be fighting in. I had on a loose t-shirt with tights on. It was easy to move in and wouldn't restrict my movements.
I used a sharp scalpel to cut my palm, blood leaking out immediately. The gates swung open.
"Right, let's start! Get moving! There are no countdowns in real battles. Run, run, run listeners!" I focused my area on alleyways. They were less crowded and I had a better chance of run ins with actual people.
Three, two pointers locked onto me. I gulped and activated my quirk. The blood shot forward into the first one, the robot burst into flames.
I copied for the second one. My quirk was fairly strong, it just could get very painful.
Pyrokinetic Blood.
My blood was practically gasoline and my fire came in as the match. I control whether or not to include my fire in with controlling my blood but I couldn't use the fire separately from the blood.
My quirk was controversial, most blood quirks were. It was looked down upon because of how gory it could get.
I left from alleyway to alleyway, killing villains.
I panted. "That should put me at 42."
~Exam Room~
"Clearly the examinees have no idea how many villains are present, or at their locations. They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target. Some use information-gathering abilities to plan out strategies." The screen showed Shoji used his arms as ears to hear the clanking of the metal villains.
"While other use speed to pull ahead of their peers." The screen switched to Iida who was coming to a stop. "Of course remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage." It showed Aoyama with his calm smile using his laser.
"As can pure power and combat ability."
The screen switched to Bakugou panting with a psychotic grin on his face as he stood in the middle of robot rubble created from his explosion."The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics. They're the ones who rack up the highest scores." The screen then switched to Cherry, who had her hand placed on the ground, feeling for the vibrations of the next robot she would destroy, next to her was three fallen villains she had already set aflame.
"Hm, I'd say this year's group looks promising." One teacher remarked.
"Well, there's still.plenty of time before it's over." A small compartment opened showing off a red button. "The real test has yet to come." The man pressed the button. "Let's see how they react.
Cherry
I panted as I made my way to the main street again. I had cleared out so many alleyways, I was nearly exhausted from how much I used my quirk. I heard loud crashing sounds coming from the end of the street. As the dust cleared, the zero pointer came into sight.
They made a robot worth no points THAT big. It left a huge shadow covering over everything. This is just extreme. Yells broke out as the thing destroyed nearly half a building.
My first instinct was to turn and run straight out of this center, creating flames big enough to take that thing down would drain me completely.
Well, that was until I saw a girl, trapped under a piece of concrete as the robot reached down to her.
Crap.
My blood shot forward, more than I would have liked to use. It pierced into the face of the robot.
"Activate!" Flames burst from the face of it, traveling throughout it's entire body. Explosions occurred through it's entire body. I pulled my blood back and leaned to the side, throwing up blood. I collapsed to my knees, shaking.
Complete overuse.
I panted heavily. I take it back, I am not cut out for hero school.
"And that's it. TIMES UP!" I heard the blonde man from before shout over the intercom system.
"Move aside, move aside dearies." A shorter, older woman walked up to me. "You're the second person to take down one of those big heroes."
I raised my thumbs up shakily before leaning over and throwing up again. "Oh my, that's some severe quirk overuse. Let me help you out with that."
She kissed me right on the forehead. I was going home, and cry myself to sleep tonight. This is too much.
- one week later-
I was still in the aftershocks of the exam, I scored a lot of points, I should have passed the written tests with the decent marks.
"Litttle Red!" I heard my mom call before bursting in the room. "Your letter came from Ua!" She held it up proudly. She slammed it on my desk in front of me, she was practically buzzing with excitement. I gently pulled the letter open and dumped it on. A small chip fell out and a projection opened.
"I AM HERE!" Both me and mom screamed as a close up of All Might appeared as a projection.
"Cherry Nakamura, you passed the written test with the highest marks! You earned 42 points on the mock exam for fighting points!" The score didn't feel high enough to get in at all.
"However, we have a different system of points. For you heroic actions in saving someone, you have being awarded 33 hero points, putting you at a second place with 75 points! Welcome to Ua University!" The projection went off.
"I got in..." I murmured in disbelief.
"You got in!" Momma squealed. "I'm so proud of you baby, we have to celebrate! I'm gonna take you shopping tomorrow!"
She left the room happily. "I have to go call your aunt and brag in her face about how my baby is a scholar at Ua University!"
I took a shaky breath. This was my first step to being a hero.
I smiled. I could do this.
