{Aspen's POV}
My book doesn't have many things in it.
Of course it has the hitlist.
Also, the fact that it's not an issue if I were to throw Jasper out the window and he cant fly.
And that's basically it... until now.
My book now includes the definitions of my brothers names.
Observe.
Caspian { kas-pee-uhn }
[Noun]-The state of being a big fat liar who is quite scary.
Ambrose { am-brohz }
[Noun]-The state of being a big fat liar who is a buttmunch.
Sorin { so-rihn }
[Noun]-The state of being somewhat decent but a big fat liar nonetheless.
Kohen { koh-uhn }
[Noun]-The state of being a big fat liar with an alcohol problem.
Jasper { jas-per}
[Noun]-The state of being throwable, up to and to the point of out the window, whilst simultaneously being a big fat liar.
I think these definitions are scarily accurate.
I am currently packing an overnight bag for Fay's house and I cant shake the feeling that my brothers are getting rid of me. Sorin was being suspicious because he hates it when I go out. Not that I even go out often, but anytime I ask to hang out with Fay his answer is no. Now he's encouraging me to go out and SLEEPOVER at her house. I've never had a sleepover and the one time, a few weeks ago, I asked to have one and my brothers acted as if I had killed someone.
I'm sure this has to do with their mafia business. What else could it be? I'm still not 100% sure what their involvement is, but I've been doing a little bit of research at school. I use their computers because I'm afraid my brothers have access to my browser history. It could be irrational since I text Arlo about it and they don't seem to know anything.
Gathering the last bit of toiletries from my bathroom, I shove them in my overnight bag. I'm surprised and relived Raini hasn't come in yet, demanding to pack for me. I leave the bathroom with my backpack on my shoulder and give my room a once-over, checking if I forgot anything.
Concluding I have everything for my bag, I sneakily go back into my bathroom and grab the gun I hid between the towels. Knowing my brothers are in the mafia has put me on a whole new level of alert. I know they have guards and everything but the guards are clearly ass. I place the gun in my waistband and put my baggy sweater overtop of it.
I make my way out of my room and down the many stairs of this mansion. I walk towards the living room which has lots of chatter coming from it. I stand in the doorway and see Caspian, Sorin, Alani, and Ambrose talking. Caspian is standing against the wall while everyone else is lounging on the couches. Alani sees me and clears his throat, getting the attention of the others. Caspian and I make eye contact and he nods his head, telling me to come in. Caspian takes a seat on one of the fancier leather chairs and I sit next to Alani on one of the couches.
