Dark, cold, and miserable that was all it could remember. The abyss stretched out for an agonizing eternity where there was nothing but nothing. Yet within this nothingness it dreamt, dreamt of a life full of color, vibrant and shining in the morning sun. 5 creatures, holding each other while smiling, each sharing a heavy burden yet unaffected. It did not know why this has been shown to it, perhaps it is just a fleeting vision, created by it's boredom of this dark shadowy world. Atleast that's what it thought. It can no longer differentiate between what was reality, or what was fantasy. It longed to be free, wanted to experience what it could never have. So it waited, waited and waited until the moment when the chains would loosen on this infernal prison. It was eternal after all, after being imprisoned for so long, it wasn't hard to keep waiting. When the moment arrived, it whispered to the ears of foolish mortals two words, "Free me". It instructed them to aquire a vessel suitable for it, and so they searched, far and wide until they happened upon a little girl, barely more than 9, happily painting outside an opulent garden. The ritual was almost complete, but an unlikely complication changed the creature's fate forever. A mere child compared to it's existence, it never thought a single atlantean would be able stop it's plans from coming into fruition. It was confident, sure of it's victory, and yet, somehow against all odds, the child managed to almost ruin everything. It suceeded still, the little girl's body was it's and nothing can stop it, atleast, until that thing came. Chaos, pure unfiltered chaos, streamed inside it's mind, it's thoughts. Despite not having a body, it laughed, it has heard that laugh numerous times, a laugh that it had always remembered as the cause of it's deep slumber. It could do nothing as the thing became thicker and thicker, then eventually seeping inside the cracks left by the unfinished ritual binding the soul of the little girl and the eldritch being. The howling laughter of chaos dissipated as it, she, finally awoke from her dark dream.
Where am I? Who am I? she thought as her eyes adjusted to a rather strange scene. She was being carried, she presumed, out of a large winding hallway. The girl holding her had white hair accentuated with blue highlights, She noticed a trident taller than her strapped to her back. When she finally realized she was awake, her features changed to unease. Paying it no mind, she continued to look around noting each passage she was passing. Strangely enough, she knew where she was and how to get out but the person carrying her seemed lost. with a yawn, she pointed at the right corridor, when she didn't respond, she began tugging on her carrier's sleeves. Finally getting the message, she bolted at the right hallway. She subconsciously guided her savior out of the maze and into the sunlight where the little girl collapsed.
"Wah!" she yelped as she face planted on the ground. she stood up and surveyed her surroundings. They came out of an old run down cottage in the middle of the woods, nearby was a dead oak tree standing guard as if it has been there for years. She looked back at the person who carried her and was vaguely confused considering the shark tail and the fact that she recognized her but could not quite tell where she had seen her. But then she heard the sound of steps coming from the cottage. Without thinking she ran to the dead tree and hid behind it's rotten trunk. In her panic, she completely forgot about the shark girl. Before she made up her mind to go back for her, the air changed, something that was not supposed to happen, A loud BANG resounded and the cultist collapsed. Out from the nearby trees came a blonde haired woman holding what they call a gun although she did not know how she knew as it is never meant to be here in the first place. She saw her grabbing the shark girl by the arms and dragging her toward the trees. They exchanged a few words than the blonde began carrying the shark girl on her back. She looked toward the dead tree and she went tense, preparing to bolt when things go bad. Yet after awhile she ascertained that the strange person meant no harm and thus she began to follow them. She wondered around eyes full of light as she took in the world around her, it's as if she had never seen it before but she strangely felt familliar, like the shark girl that helped her escape. In fact, she realized her memories were fuzzy, images of a big house that she thinks was her's flashed in her mind, yet sometimes she remembered a dark nothingness, anger, pain, hate, but also happiness, joy, love. these emotions mixed together with all those memories confusing her even more. She did not know who, or what, she was, the last thing she could remember clearly was that twisting maze she believed she was kept in. A bird flew by, then froze midflight, this distracted her long enough to reach for it, but before she could grab it, it flew away. Glancing in front of her, the woman set the shark girl down and disappeared, again that change in the air as something happened that isn't quite right. After the woman vanished, shouts came from behind us, before she could react, the shark girl grabbed her and covered her mouth. She fought back and let out a muffled scream, but the shark girl will not let go.
She whispered, albeit aggresively, "Shush! if you don't stop, were both dead!".
After a while she eventually calmed down, not wanting to go back in that maze. An hour later the shark girl eventually released her, She ran away as fast as she can. The shark girl blinked at her with surprise before following her. They walked together in an unbearable silence before her companion asked about her name. This was quite the dilemma for her since she didn't know either, She thought hard, racking her blurry memories. They walked in an awkward silence, unsure of what to say. Then a voice, similar to hers, whispered in her head, "Ninomae Inanis". She blurted it out, still quite unsure whether it actually is her name since it sounded quite strange. The shark girl smiled and introduced herself as gura. As the ice broke, they talked more comfortably, Ina has never felt such happiness for as long as she can clearly remember. Somehow talking to her seemed normal, natural, They smiled and laughed although she still couldn't remember much, but bit's and pieces started to come loose. She felt the warmth in her chest as something that was always there yet somehow new to her. They were almost to Innsmouth when Ina felt that strange feeling again, but this time stronger. Before she could warn Gura, they both froze in place, for standing there was a raven haired woman with a clock like head piece and ribbons adorning her ears and chest. Her eyes pierced them with a cold glare. That sense of familiarity hit her again, but this time, she felt angry at her. She conjured a blade similar to the hands of a clock and pointed it at Gura's throat. She asked her about a certain blonde holding a pocket watch. She saw what was coming when Gura lied as the entity prepared to cut off the head of the first friend she made.
She screamed, not like a child, no, something more sinister, a terrible call that comes from the very depths of the abyss. A power that transcends time gushed out of her, engulfing everything in it's path. The entity backed away faster than the eye could blink, she looked at the child turned monster and cursed. Shooting a glaring look at the sky while muttering something, she disappeared.
Yet even after she left, the strange otherworldly power kept on flowing out. If left unchecked, it would consume the world. She screamed louder and louder, dark memories flooding in, her mind breaking down as her brain gets overloaded with information. But before she completely breaks, she was knocked unconscious by a trident.
