Christmas eve was always his favourite part of chrismtas, never christmas day. Sure, he enjoyed the presants opening and christmas meal but that always came with it's own form of stress as well. 
                          
But christmas eve, the exctiment was always at it's best and the whole family was always gathered togehter completly rexlaxed and happy together. 
                          
He loved sitting down, huddled up to his mother and just watching a Christmas film together. Smiling and laughing together before eating a few of the Christmas snacks together before finally falling asleep with happy dreams awaiting for them. 
                          


                          
That's why, he was excited all over again. 
                          


                          
He was full of pure bliss and heart warming love as he watched his girlfriend shuffled back towards him and their small sofa, hot chocolates in hand that she happily placed down on their worn second hand coffee table and soon cuddled up beside him. 
                          
A fuzzy and thick blanket thrown over their legs as they lazily wrapped their arms together and hit play to start watching the Grinch (2000) since they had already watched Krampus, him not being the best at horror films but knowing his girlfriend loved them and loved it more when he clung to her too. She got what she wanted, being the brave one between them and holding him close meaning now it was his time to watch a film he knew they both liked. 

                          


                          
And, as snacks did lay on the table along with a small plate left out for Santa. Sure, they were gown up but it was tradition and they left some out for him anyway. The worn sofa holding up their cuddled bodies as they smiled contently, laughing over a few parts in the film and warming themselves up even more with the hot chocolates. 
                          
He was reminded over his childhood days and Christmas eve stayed as his favourite part of Christmas. 

                          


                          
"Merry Christmas Eve, Takashi" She simply whispered with a warm smile as she left her head to lay comfortably on his chest. 
                          
"Merry Christmas Eve, my fiancée" He casually replied with a love sick look in his eyes as his other hand reached to the side of their sofa. 
                          
"What are you even tal- Takashi!" She started to reply in confusion before gasping out his name as he laid the ring box on top of his lap over the blanket for her to see. The lid to the box currently in hiding by their pet cat who thought the box was a toy to destroy. But luckily, the ring was safe. 
                          
"Will  you, Katie Holt, make me the happiest and most luckiest man alive by having you as my wife for all our Christmas eves that lay in waiting in our future together" He asked with a gentle smile and pure love filling his eyes as he's asked the one question he's always wanted to ask her. 
                          
"Yes" She answered with teary eyes, pulling him into a deep kiss and forgetting about the ring in his lap for a moment.
