"O-okay. If you insist," Jonathan sighed undetected and replied to his unsuspecting lover before he watched her disappear behind the door. Being left behind alone in a room together with Fyre, Jonathan couldn't help but become uncomfortable. He wasn't doing anything wrong but it felt like he was because he is now aware of his feelings. Of course, he is still determined to be with Remi because he simply didn't want to hurt the Beta but he could only hold back much before all of it could burst out and he does something he will forever regret.
Walking back and forth, praying that Remi would come immediately, the drunk Omega on the bed suddenly sat up. His drunk-daze eyes looked around and when he spotted Jonathan, his eyes started to water making the Alpha jump in surprise. He had never seen Fyre like this before but he surprisingly didn't hate it. No one would imagine that he usually has a very wild personality.
"I wanna puke~" Fyre mumbled in tears, which made Jonathan widen his eyes. He didn't wait for a second and quickly lifted Fyre on his arms before he puked on the bed and ran to the toilet room. He proceeded to place Fyre in front of the toilet bowl where the Omega vomited almost immediately as soon as his feet touched the tiled floor.
"Okay, just let it all out," Jonathan whispered gently and caressed Fyre's back as the Omega continued to vomit all his stomach's content from the whole day while crying. It took a minute or so and when Fyre was finally done subconsciously flashing the toilet, Jonathan once again helped him into the sink so he could help wipe his face and clean his mouth.
"I hate puking~" Fyre expressed still in tears while he clumsily washed his face with water and later gurgled. However, even though he looked like a mess, Jonathan still could not help but find the Omega endearing so he chuckled, giving Fyre a face towel to dry his face with.
"Okay. Of course, you hate it," Jonathan laughed a little while the Omega cried again saying he truly hated it.
"W-Whyyy arrr you raufing?" Fyre asked upset, slurring his words, hearing Jonathan laugh at him. He clumsily slammed the towel on the sink and faced the Alpha in annoyance but since he's too dizzy and couldn't stand straight, he fell right in front of Jonathan. And for what coincidence, the way Fyre fell made him and Jonathan look at each other intimately—at least it looked that way from another person's point of view—except that in Fyre's eyes, Jonathan was two because he was too dizzy. He wasn't even conscious of what he was doing.
Meanwhile, as for Jonathan, his heart began to beat vigorously as his eyes captivatingly stared at the drunkard Omega. From then on, he didn't know what went to his mind and he leaned closer. And just when his lips briefly touched Fyre's, he jumped surprised when he heard something suddenly drop by the door. When he looked in the direction, he saw Remi there in shock before her eyes began to water.
"I-I can explain." Jonathan was only able to utter as he supported Fyre's unconscious body but seeing the scene, Remi could no longer hold her tears as they started streaming down uncontrollably. She wasn't stupid. She already noticed for a while now that Jonathan's treatment of her changed a little after he met Fyre but she pushed that thought away because she believed the Alpha loved her. It has not been that long since they have been together but she truly gave it her all because that's just the way she loves.
"Remi, please listen to me," Jonathan begged, still cradling the unconscious Fyre in his arms as he approached his lover. He tried to touch Remi but the Beta stepped back, refusing to be touched.
"I-I knew it. I knew it all along but I was in denial because I chose to believe you. I believed that you loved me. If there was a day that you no longer have feelings for me, I didn't expect it would be this soon." Remi expressed in sorrow, covering her mouth with her hand so her voice wouldn't slip out loudly. Marjorie Wood's words flashed in her mind and she knew this was her defeat. Marjorie already warned her that Jonathan had a habit of falling in and out of love easily. This was clearly her defeat. She simply couldn't fight against nature. A Beta and an Alpha could never be together.
Jonathan quickly proceeded to place Fyre on his bed and soon approached Remi who was currently bawling in pain and sorrow.
"Remi...Please believe me. I love you...I will never leave you. I will keep my promise to you no matter what." Jonathan tried to convey but it was useless.
"Jonathan, I noticed how you look at my younger brother. You tried to hide it but I know how to feel inside. I can feel it. You've changed since you met Fyre. I ignored everything because I have no evidence and I wanted to trust you fully but Jonathan, you can't love two people at the same time. It's clear to me which of us is heavier in your heart." Remi said between her sobs. Her eyes never blamed Fyre nor did she blame Jonathan. Instead, she blamed herself because she knew from the start that she was never good enough. It had always been like that—even with Ethan.
"Please...calm down. It may be true that I couldn't stop myself from falling but I still chose to be with you, Remi. I have decided to be with you...my feelings for Fyre...I can...I can give it up but you...you are the only person for me." Jonathan convinced and pulled the Beta into his arms to hug tight. However, instead of calming down, Remi bawled in pain hearing the truth from the Alpha.
"N-No...I-I can't...I can't be with you...If I'm not the only one then I don't want it..." Remi cried as she shook her head and tried to get away from the tight hug but couldn't because Jonathan would simply not let him go. "Y-Your sister told me your affection for me will soon disappear. I didn't believe her but now we're here... I just...It just hurts that you chose Fyre, my younger brother! I don't want a relationship like this, Jonathan." Remi added between her sniffles and continued to struggle away, which she eventually succeeded in doing so. Jonathan admits that he had a history of easily losing his feelings for his lovers but with Remi, he was determined to be with her this time.
"Remi, please...I'll try...I'll try to stop this...Don't listen to them because I choose you...please just listen to me. I promise earlier won't happen again. I won't do it again and I'll avoid Fyre if that will make you happy...Just please calm down and listen." Jonathan begged and tried to hold Remi but she quickly avoided it and stepped back. She briefly closed her eyes before she opened them again to glare at the Alpha.
"I don't want to talk about this now. Please give me space to think this through." Remi said, wiping her tears. Naturally, Jonathan didn't want to go but in the end, he decided to give the space Remi needed and soon left the room. At the same time, as soon as the Alpha left, Remi slowly fell onto the floor and cried silently, the pain she was feeling was like someone was literally squeezing her heart to the point that she couldn't breathe. She wanted to cry loudly but she chose not to, not wanting his little brother to wake up and discover what had happened.
