     WHILE WAITING for Sarah, JJ eventually laid against Kai and rested his head onto Kai's lap, his arm around Kai's waist. Kai brushes his fingers through the boy's hair, "do you guys wanna get a fire started?" John B asked and Kai looks at JJ. "We can go look for wood. Right, J?" He says and JJ groans.
                          
"But I'm so comfortable." He says, sprawled on the boy's lap like that. "Come on, you lazy ass." Kai smacks his arm and he does get up as Kai stood up as well, they went into the woods together to look for the wood. 
                          
"Kai, come here..." JJ says as Kai was stacking up a little pile of wood that he's found so far. "What?" Kai walked over to him and JJ just puts his arms around his waist, pulling him into a kiss. Kai smiled, kissing back as he stepped closer and JJ's hands trail up his back, resting on his upper back as Kai's arms are wrapped around JJ's neck, their kiss deepens.
                          
"We said we were gonna look for wood, J." Kai said as he suddenly pulls away and JJ leans in towards him again. "Can't I just kiss my boyfriend?" He whispers and Kai just chuckled. "As much as I love kissing you... we need to take this wood back to them." He says and JJ groans, stuffing his face into Kai's chest as he closed his eyes. "JJ." Kai giggled softly.
                          
JJ stood up straight and stared at Kai, raising his hand to the side of his boyfriend's face. He caressed the boy's cheek with his thumb and leaned in, giving him one peck. 
                          
"Alright. Now I'm okay. Let's go back."
                          
As they walked over to the beach where John B, Pope and Kie were, Sarah was near shore so Kai and JJ rush to set down the firewood. "Sarah!" Kie said, standing up and waving her hands. "You made it." JJ called out, before all five of them went running to the boat.
                          
"What happened?"
                          
They covered the boat up to hide it as Sarah walks with John B onto the beach. "You guys were right. It didn't work. Sorry." Sarah says, looking at Kie who nods. "Welp, then that settles it, guys. No, ya'll need to load up in the paddy wagon and get the heck out of Dodge right now." JJ says, pointing to the boat.
                          
"Right, you guys are gonna need supplies, and you're gonna have to split as soon as possible." Pope tells them. "Guys, I think it's too late." Kie says, staring off in the distance as sirens wail in the distance. "They followed you here?" John B says, police boats coming towards them. "Must've been your father." He says.
                          
"We're gonna have to find another way out of here." Pope says as Kai grabs JJ's arm. "Stay on the beach with your hands in the air!" A man yells on a megaphone. "Go now! Go!" Pope shouted before they ran.
                          
They ran through the water as the men came chasing after them, all of them in FBI vests and holding guns. They run up the beach and into the woods as they all kept yelling go, John B had Sarah's arm around his shoulders as JJ was holding Kai's hand tightly, Pope and Kie behind them. They run through tall grass, JJ helping down Kai into the water, then Kie, Pope after her and then Sarah next.
                          
"JJ, grab her hand." John B had told him as Kai also helps Sarah, before John B comes down next, grabbing Sarah then they began running through the water again. The water gets deeper, which caused them to have to swim across. The FBI were hot on their trails as Kie got to the shore, "come on!" John B says, all of them running into the woods again. Swimming and having to run right after always had Kai struggling to do so.
                          
Swimming, you can do really well and fast, but getting out right after and running with the weight of your body coming back was hard. They ran to hide behind a tree, coughing and panting. Behind them, the FBI were catching up, then the other way, police station's vehicles were speeding towards their way.
                          
At this point, there's no way out. It's inevitable. "We're trapped. They surrounded us. What do we do?" Pope says. "There's no getting out of it. We gotta make a stand." JJ said and Kai looked at him, to see him wiping a gun in his hand. "J..." Kai whispered, grabbing his arm but the blond simply took out the cartridge full of bullets, blowing onto it since they were in the water. As JJ cocks the gun, Kai sighed.
                          
"JJ, please don't do this..." He whispered, taking his boyfriend's hand with the gun in it. As he was holding it, John B suddenly took the gun, looking at JJ then at Kai. He dropped it, nodding at the two. "It's gonna be alright."
                          
The cars around them parked, the cops yelling at them to stop. "Here we go." John B says as JJ simply covers up the gun on the ground. Shoupe jumps out the car, raising his gun. "John B! Step out into the clearing!" He shouted and John B raised his hands up.
                          
"Get down. Do not move!"
                          
"I'm surrendering!" John B shouted as the other five teens raised their hands. All of the police officers yelled at John B who Kai kept his eyes on with a worried gaze. "Stay right where you are. Keep your hands where we can see them." Shoupe called out to him.
                          
"Don't move!"
                          
"Hey, listen, Shoupe, I wanna testify."
                          
"It's about time. Get down. Do not move a muscle. Everybody else, don't move." Shoupe said as he walked over and John B got down on his knees, putting his hands behind his head. "Don't move. Keep your hands where I can see them." Plumb tells the others as the other police officer walks over to John B.
                          
He grabs the boy, "are you serious? Come on!" JJ said as the man body slams the teenage boy on the ground. "No!" Sarah shouted. "Stop!" Kie yelled at the cop. "Let him go!" The others yelled as Kai looked away, not wanting to watch the cop who kicked John B. "Sheriff, what is that?! You're gonna let that happen?!" JJ yelled, as Plumb stepped closer to him.
                          
"Don't move!"
                          
They kept yelling at the police officer to stop as he raised John B to his face, "stand down!" Shoupe tries to stop him. "Get off!" The other man shoved him away. "This is for Peterkin." i hated that fuckin cop so much 😐😐 like i get that he thinks john b killed their former sheriff, but that doesn't give him a right to attack john b, who is a minor by the way.
