"What were you thinking?!" Niall raised his voice at Valerie once he drove off. 
She looked down.
"What if you got shot?! You would get yourself killed Valerie. Yourself And the baby!" He slammed on the staring wheel causing her to flinch.
"Why were you here?!" 
"to stop him" she whispered.
"I told you not talk to him! Was he the visitor in the mansion?"
"no. that was his sister" she said quietly.
"What was she saying?"
"she wanted me to talk to Ja-" Niall glared at her harshly. 
"To talk to her brother to stop him." She corrected herself. 
He breathed heavily.
"Do I have to bring back the rule?! Not going out on your own?" He asked madly.
"no. I won't talk to him again. I promise." 
"I swear if I catch you two again!" He said furiously.
                          
When they reached home, he held her hand and made her sit on the edge of the bed. He sat on the chair in front of her.
"Answer me this Valerie. You still love him?" He asked with a calmer tone.
"I did it because of his sister" she dodged the question. 
"If it was me, would you stop me? Or you wouldn't care if I die?" He asked.
                          
"Why do you think I was stopping him? So no one shoots you."
He shook his head negatively.
"You stopped me from shooting him because you love him. You stopped him from shooting me .. because you love him." He said.
He then leaned forward.
"Let me tell you this. You are not allowed to love anyone else other than me. Your husband. Do you understand?" He whispered.
"yes" she whispered back.
"Good" he said and got up.
                          
He began putting on his tie.
"From tomorrow I will know where you are 24/7. And I will know the truth."
"okay" she said weakly.
"Fuck" he cursed under his breath.
He always had a problem with fixing his tie.
She got up and went in front of him.
She started fixing it and he stared into her soul.
She became successful and took a few steps back looking down.

It was the next evening and the Horan family were sitting in the living room having a family time.
The maid brought the big bowl of fruits and walked toward each person so they  could take some fruits.
She brought the bowl in front of Niall. He took a red apple.
She held the bowl in front of Valerie.
"I'm full thank you" she said softly.
The maid put back the bowl on the big circular table in the middle.
                          
Niall handed the apple and the knife to Valerie.
"I want you to cut it for me" he said softly with a smile.
She smiled lightly and took it.
She sliced the apples and gave the plate back to Niall.
Niall took a slice and placed it in front of her mouth.
She opened her mouth slowly and Niall placed the piece of apple in her mouth.
He then winked and flashed her a smile.
She giggled silently shaking her head.
                          
This was her first giggle in Horan's mansion. That caused Niall to smile even bigger.
That also made Ava to smile.
Valerie's trying. She's trying to finally accept and adapt to this life.
She knows Niall will never let her go. 
She knows life is too short to be sad all the time.
She has a child to raise and the first thing she can do is to at least accept the child's father. 
                          
Niall and Valerie ate the apple together. 
She had cravings. She suddenly wanted grapes but she was too shy to say it to the maid. 
She leaned toward Niall's ear.
"Niall" she whispered.
"Yes love"
"Your child wants grapes" 
Niall smiled happily. 
"Lisa bring the fruit bowl" Niall demanded.
"Yes sir" she held the bowl in front of Niall again. 
He took some grapes and motioned the maid to go away.
                          
He took the grapes and put it in Valerie's plate.
"Thanks" she said quietly.
"You're so cute when you're having cravings" Niall said.
She smiled shyly and began eating the grapes.
This was the first ever conversation between them that was a happy conversation.
Maybe everything is finally going to be okay.
