Levi raised a brow as Eva fell into her seat. Her uniform was covered in dirt and grass stains. He tossed his handkerchief at her earning a frown as she took it.
"You have dirt all over your face."
"Yeah, you look like shit," Furlan teased. Eva shoved his arm, Furlan swatted her away and dusted the grime from his uniform
"You really are filthy."
"I am terrible at horseback riding," She whined.
"She is, I saw her yesterday," Isabel laughed.
"Yeah, well I've been excelling at everything else, so Miche has had me in the stables all week. I think it's payback," She sighed, wiping her face. Isabel picked out hay from her hair, struggling to hold in her laughter.
"Why couldn't we meet at the bar? I need a drink after today."
"We can't discuss the job in the bar," Furlan reminded.
"Have you managed to get any information?" Levi asked.
"No, Erwin is barely around. Miche runs his section, and I think he has most of the veteran members. So, most of the time it's just Miche and me," She explained.
"Didn't you have lunch with them yesterday?" Isabel asked.
"You said you had extra training," Levi reminded. Eva shot a look at Isabel, who gave her an apologetic smile as she sat back.
"S-Sorry I thought-"
"No one will talk to me with you breathing down my neck. You're not the most approachable person, and my part of the job is to get close to people. You make that exceedingly difficult," She explained.
"And before you get upset, I did get something from Miche. The Sectional Commander's offices are in the main administration building adjacent to the Commander, that's usually where Erwin is."
"If he's always in his office, how will we be able to check it out?" Furlan asked.
"Miche suggested that I ask Erwin to help me with my horse. He's apparently their best rider."
"Perfect, Eva can distract-"
"No," Levi interrupted.
"You're getting too involved, we're here to work not to make friends."
"We need that document. Do you want to ask him for his help with training?" Levi gave her a look.
"Exactly. I'll distract Erwin, you guys find and check his office," She finished, getting back to her feet.
"Where are you going?"
"I need a shower and a fresh uniform," She replied, turning to leave.
"Have fun on your date!" Isabel teased, dodging Eva's hand when she reached to smack her arm. Levi watched her back until she disappeared.
"What is it?" Furlan asked. Levi knew his sister like the back of his hand, but there was something about being up here that made her feel distant.
"Nothing, let's get ready."

The younger soldiers had begun to file into the dining hall, it was getting louder by the minute. Shadis had already left for his office, and Hange was waiting for Moblit to finish up so they could head to the bar. Erwin wanted to check in with Miche so he dismissed himself from the table.
"Erwin!" He paused just outside the dining hall doors. He glanced to his side surprised to see Eva, who appeared to have been waiting for him.
