Amity POV

Filtered sunlight seeped into Amity's vision. She opened her eyes fully to be met by the sight of... Wait... THIS ISNT MY ROOM!!

She sat up faster than she should have and now her vision was starting to edge with darkness. Gods, her head hurt.

She looked around. Oh right. She was in Luz's house... Wait... LUZ'S HOUSE?!

*panic*

Amity got to her feet with surprisingly great struggle. The witch stumbled into the kitchen to see the human sat on the counter, looking at her phone. She looked up at Amity's very graceful entrance and waved with slightly widened eyes without saying anything. The witch froze up with the human's attention now onto her.

"Hello! hi! yes, I am here, in your house and I just woke up! I should pack my things and head off now! Amity swung her arm like a pirate and let out a nervous chuckle. Luz's expression didn't seem to change at this and she hopped off the counter.

"Stay." she said simply, and tore her eyes away from the witch to hand a plate covered with a lid with some kind of omelette. She doubted they were griffin eggs.

"Oh, you made breakfast? Shit, i'm really troubling you, I'm really sorry," Amity started backing away, holding her hands up in front of her.
"You've already given me more comfort that I could ever ask you for, so I should quickly change and head off!"

Panic was creeping up inside her and her headache wasn't helping with this either. Amity realised a few seconds later that she was holding tightly to the door frame in order to keep herself up. She felt really dizzy. She looked up and was met by the soft touch of a hand on hers and Luz saying something she didn't register. She immediately jerked back again, audibly gasping.

Luz took a step back, a hurt look on her face, which turned into some other emotion Amity couldn't read.

Her head was pounding. Her heart was too.

Amity stared at the floor to concentrate stopping her legs from letting her fall.

Luz only stayed silent. Still.

When she was ready, Amity's eyes traveled up to the human in front of her. She had her hand out awkwardly.
"Let me help."

Amity blinked. It was a long, tired, confused blink.

Luz blinked back. A quick one, waiting for a response.

Amity saw that Luz's hand was a little bigger than hers. Wait, actually her fingers were really long compared to hers.

Hesitantly, she lifted her arm and slipped her hand into hers.

Is- is this okay? Why would she want to help m e ?

Luz held it firmly, encouraging Amity to put some weight on her. Amity looked up into the latina's eyes.

They betrayed nothing evil, no threat, no nothing.

Luz carefully helped Amity back to the couch and quickly threw away the blankets to the side so that the two of them could sit.

"Are you okay?" Luz asked.

Amity stared. Again, there was this fear and confusion deep inside her, asking her why the human asked this. What good reason has she to do so?

This time Amity shook her head, but that made her headache worse, making her flinch.

The witch felt the places Luz held her grow a little colder now that Luz was sitting with a good handful of inches away from her, her tan hands on her knees. Yes, like friends do.

Luz showed a little concern on her face.
"Headache?"

"Yeah, a bad one."

"Do you feel dizzy?"

"Of course I did, dum dum."

Luz scoffed. "I expected something worse to come out your mouth."

Amity's lipped tugged at a tiny grin. It wasn't very noticeable because talking didn't help.

"Stay there."

The human quietly left and came back quickly with more of that par-ass-mol or whatever. She'd forgotten what it was called.

The human handed her a glass of water and Amity almost choked swallowing it, but thank the Titan she didn't.

Amity could tell that Luz was suppressing one of her small smiles.

Amity realised that both of them were kind of similar in a way. She couldn't put her finger on the reason why though.

The witch brought her knees up to her chest and put her forehead on her crossed arms on her legs. She closed her eyes waiting for the pain to fade a little. This was not a great start to her day.

"Maybe take a lie in or something today," Luz said in a hushed voice. Amity felt her voice origin was in a slightly different position, indicating that she turned her head towards her. She felt that chocolaty gaze on her.

"'Kay," was the only reply she could give.

Guilt lay like a blanket on Amity. But she was still to tired.

After a few moments of silence Luz spoke. "It was- it was- good... that you- accepted my h-help." Luz coughed into her mouth.

It was? Oh. Yeah. It was.

The human- Luz stood up and crept to the door. Amity heard her footsteps falter for a second by the exit. She stopped a few seconds and then closed the door as quietly.

The greenette decided to lie in a more comfortable position.

Maybe a lie in wouldn't so bad after all.
