"You know, you got some nerve coming up in here after what you did." Eddie told him.
"I didn't do a gotdamn thing." Zee said, glaring at his father.
"You right, but if I wanted to tell the police that it was you who shot me, I very well could." The older man smirked, before taking a sip of his orange juice that was in a small styrofoam cup.
Zealand balled up his fists, then released them and placed his hands by his sides so that he could calm down. "I wish Harmony would've put you six feet under. She should've kept shooting until the clip was empty."
"Ouch, is that any way to talk to your father?" Eddie said sarcastically.
"You ain't my father. A father is a man who loves, respects, and bends over backwards for his children. A father is a man who makes sacrifices for his children. A father is a man that doesn't physically, verbally, or mentally abuse his children. You don't deserve that title." Zealand spat.
"From here on out, I don't want you texting me, calling me, or none of that. I'm going back to the house to pack up our stuff and we're leaving."
His father then began to laugh. He was laughing so hard that you would've thought Kevin Hart came in there and did a comedy show.
"Son, who you fooling? You ain't ready for the real world. I mean, where would you even go? How are you gonna take care of yourself and a nine year old? Be realistic. You just talking out the side of your neck. You need me." Eddie said coldly.
Zee then scoffed, "It'll be a cold day in hell before I ever need you. I can hold my own weight, trust me. I been doing a damn good job at it thus far."
"Yeah, whatever. I'll be right here when you come crawling back after you crack under pressure."
Zealand shook his head, "Fuck you. You're a sorry excuse for a man, bruh." He said, before heading towards the door. Zee opened it and exited the room.
He was officially wiping his hands clean of his father. The last five years had been torture dealing with Eddie, but the time had come for a drastic change. Zealand was no longer about to let his father torment and destroy him nor Harmony.
Zealand went back to the waiting room, and noticed that Harmony was asleep in the chair next to his aunt. Draya saw Zee coming, and stood up.
"How did it go?"
Zee sighed, "He was being his usual asshole self."
Draya sucked her teeth.
"Watch your sister. I'll be back in a few minutes." She said and he nodded. He plopped down in the chair that she was previously sitting in, then leaned down to kiss Harmony's temple lightly.
"I promise, I got us. Big brother has everything under control." Zealand whispered to her. She stirred in her sleep, adjusting her position so that she was more comfortable.
Draya blew out a breath as she stood outside of Eddie's room. She then opened the door and walked right inside, not even bothering to knock.
Eddie looked away from the tv, and raised a brow. "The circus must be in town. I ain't seen your clown ass in a minute." He snickered, turning the volume down with the remote.
