Chapter 03
As the days passed, the day had finally arrived for Gav to present himself in front of a large crowd. On those days, we traded off helping Gav memorize his lines and sometimes we got to do it together.
I was dressed up in a white flowy dress with an ice blue cardigan and doll shoes.
Classes are in session, but I excused myself for the entire day to be there to support Gav. And to see how our efforts are paid off...
Gav was wearing his custom... made by Ate Glea. It was exactly as if they were preparing for a scarecrow. A maong jumpsuit with a checkered polo underneath and a straw hat. Furthermore, we stored straws beneath his polo, making him appear to be made of straws, similar to a scarecrow.
Nasa harap namin ang Polaroid ni Ate. Gusto ni Mama na kunan kami kaya pinagsabihan n'ya si Ate kasi nagmamadali na sila dahil nga mag organized pa sila sa school grounds.
Gav was frowning as I assembled the camera and tried clicking on it.
"Glai, pumwesto kana doon, si Ginger na bahala d'yan." She held into my shoulders.
I nodded and went beside Gav, struggling with his outfit.
"Ginger ikaw dito, press the timer button on the rear, bilisan mo it only takes 10 seconds!" Saad ni Ate.
"Sige,"
Ate Glea standing beside Gav on his left side, while I stood on his right. Ginger signaled us with her thumb up.
"1,2,3, Go!"
She chuckled as she ran towards me and went on my other side. She was in a hurry, so we bumped into each other, and I bumped Gav as well. Squeezing and compromising us. I looked at her for a moment, she was smiling widely and had two of her fingers outstretched. My gaze returned to the camera... and I slightly stretched my lips.
"Cheese!"
"Cheese-"
"Barbecue flavor!" Ginger and Gav both exclaimed loudly.
And with that, my smile faded, and I strangely glanced at them as they both made wacky faces.
The camera then flashed.
I packed water, snacks, and towels and placed them in Gav's sling bag. I also brought extra baka magaway at mag-aagawan 'tong dalawa.
O dalhin ko nalang kaya ang isang pack ng chuckie?
Ate Glea had already called the Guard and asked for his assistance in locating a taxi for us. He agreed, so she told me to wait outside so he wouldn't get lost.
I was standing outside beside our fence, admiring the trees swaying in the wind as if waving at me. The breeze creased my skin, softly whipping at my dress, causing it to flow freely.
It kisses me and whisks me away for a split second, and the sweet roar of the wind gave way to warmth and silence.
As I feel the wind tossing me, I embrace myself. The sound of the leaves as they passed by.
Wind.
My admiration came to a halt when the sound of our neighbor's fence was heard.
I gave it a quick glance, but nothing came of it. Nobody. It was presumably blown by the wind, which is why it moved. I was about to avert my gaze when a black cat emerged from behind the fence.
My eyes glowed with delight, and I couldn't help but walk towards it.
If anyone saw him right now, they'd probably think he's bad luck. How could anyone label this tiny bean as unlucky? This tiny one is pure bliss for me.
