Kyra was woken up by Prinplup gently shaking her, a much more pleasant wake up call than being attacked by Peck like last time.

"Morning Prinplup," Kyra said as she woke up, sitting up and ruffling Prinplup's head as she stroked him.

Prinplup trilled happily and waddled over to Kyra's lap and sat down for cuddles. Kyra gave Prinplup the attention he was looking for and relaxed with him.

"Where are the others?" Kyra asked, noticing that it was only her and Prinplup in the tent.

"They went to find Nate and Willow. The fog has cleared up slightly and they went to take advantage of the added vision compared to last night. I decided to stay since I wanted to talk about Barry and how he used to be my trainer," Prinplup explained, hoping Kyra would be willing to talk.

Kyra had guessed that Prinplup would ask sooner or later, so she let him talk and ask what he wanted.

"Last time we saw him, he made out that I was weak. Then I only managed to draw with Quagsire when we battled. I don't want to risk losing to his Floatzel too when we next see him," Prinplup explained, admitting what was worrying him.

Kyra understood why Prinplup was worrying, she too was worried slightly about her inevitable next run in with Barry for the same reasons.

"We can do some training once I've changed if you want. Do you mind checking how wet it is outside after last night's storm whilst I change?" Kyra replied, hoping that the training opportunity would cheer Prinplup up.

Prinplup unzipped the tent and left, zipping it up again once he has confirmed the ground wasn't too wet. Kyra thanked him and got changed, luckily not receiving anymore familial memories from the scarf as she tied it around her neck.

Kyra emerged from the tent to see Prinplup practicing Peck close by, she praised him and started putting her tent away as Prinplup continued to train.

Prinplup heard Kyra's praise and took a quick break so as to help Kyra put the tent down. Kyra appreciated Prinplup's help since it got the job done twice as fast, meaning more time for focused training.

"So, your move set right now consists of: Peck, Bubble Beam, Metal Claw, and Bide. You were working on Peck quite a lot, so I'd suggest working on it to try and master Drill Peck which will be a massive upgrade, compared to Peck especially so," Kyra suggested, guessing what Prinplup's intentions were with ease.

Prinplup was willing to put the effort in to master Drill Peck and the two got down to training right away.

Similarly to the technique Prinplup had used in the Gym Battle against Gardenia, Prinplup would jump up and use Peck, but spin down towards the target of the wood pile Kyra had set up to stop Prinplup from hurting himself.

Kyra was enjoying the training just as much as Prinplup, seeing him improve was just what Kyra needed. However the sudden tight grips around her waist and chest was the exact opposite.

Kyra looked down to see two claw like pincers clamped around her, there was only one pokémon the pincers could belong to. A Drapion. Despite Drapion not being a Bug Type, Kyra was still terrified since it evolved from one, becoming much more dangerous in it's evolved form. Skorupi were one thing, but Drapion were a whole other threat.

The Drapion that had Kyra in his grasp began tightening it's grip, Kyra began panicking and tried to work out how to save herself, but there was no way of escaping a Drapion's grasp once it had found its prey. Not unless it was defeated that was.

"Prinplup, I need you to use Drill Peck on Drapion before...NYAGH!" Kyra called, crying out in pain as Drapion's crushing grip became more painful by the second.
