"So," Luke began, "I'm gonna go for a haircut later. Lads, anyone wanna come with me?"
All of the boys mumbled out a no, but I decided now was as good a time as ever to get my hair dyed back. I honestly think Calum was more nervous than I was about dying my hair back, because he was afraid I wouldn't like it. He even offered to pay for fixing my hair if I ended up not liking my hair.
"I'll go," I spoke up, "I'm dying my hair back."
"Ahh, brunette Jade is back in action." Michael smirked.
"You want me to go with you, babe?" Calum asked, not even bothering glancing up from his phone. I chuckled and shook my head, then realized he wasn't looking at me.
"No, I'll be fine Cal." I said.
"Okay. Be safe. I love you." he stood, tucking his phone away and giving me a quick kiss.
"I love you too, I'll see you later." I nodded. He smiled softly and walked Luke and I to the hotel door.
"Bye babe." Calum whispered one last time.
"Bye honey bunches." Luke sneered, flicking Calum on the forehead. Calum glared at Luke but didn't say anything, then closed the hotel door in his face.
"You're so mean to him." I laughed. Luke scoffed and led me toward the elevator.
"He'll live. Michael's mean to me, I live." Luke shrugged. The elevator doors flew open, and Luke motioned for me to enter before he did. I thanked him and walked in, followed by Luke, who pressed the lobby button on the door.
"Hey Luke?" I asked.
"Mhm?" he replied, too engrossed in his phone to give me his full and undivided attention.
"How did you and the boys know Calum was in love with me before he did? Even before I did?"
That got Luke's attention. He smirked and shoved his phone into his pocket, glancing up at me with a wide smirk and a dirty look in his eye.
"It was so fucking obvious, Jade. He'd always make special trips to the Chinese place just because you wanted a damn egg roll, or he'd come storming into my house at one in the morning demanding to get drunk because you came to him crying over Ethan Reed again. He was so hopelessly in love with you, and you just couldn't see it."
Tears were about to roll down my cheeks at this point. Was Luke right? Had I really been so oblivious to Calum's being in love with me? Was I that naïve?
Before I could ask him another question, the elevator doors flung open, and Luke allowed me to walk through again before him. He led me out of the hotel with his hood up and sunglasses on, and quickly into a taxi. Thank God nobody spotted him.
"You really wanna dye your hair back, McKingsley?" Luke asked once we were safely inside the taxi.
"Yeah, Hemmings. I do."
>>>>
"Jade, come on. Let me see!" Luke yelled from behind the curtain.
My hair looked so amazing. It looked like my old hair; the hair I had before Calum left. It brought back all of my memories of when Cal and I were younger, when we were both growing up.
"Ready?" I asked, ready to step out.
"Yes, Christ." Luke groaned. I chuckled lightly and stepped out from behind the curtain.
"Well?" I asked as he stared at me.
"Welcome back, McKingsley. You look like you again." Luke chuckled and threw his arms around me in a hug. And I hugged back, of course. Mister Luke Hemmings, one of my best friends, was standing here and telling me that I was me again.
