⚠️TW⚠️ mentions of bullying and slurs (I'm gay and non binary so I can use these slurs however, I never do as they make me uncomfortable)
Yamaguchi's pov
"So is it true... Are you really trans." Narita spoke up. I could tell by his tone that he was disgusted... Of course there had to be at least one person who wouldn't accept my existence...
"As a matter of fact, yes I am trans and if you have a problem with that then keep it to yourself cause i don't have time to waist on bigots like you." I snapped, shocking the team. The first years hadn't arrived yet, I'm glad they didn't have to see this. Kags looked at me, smiling a little and mouthing "Proud of you." I smiled back at him before looking back at the team. They had seemed to tense up after I snapped. Tsukishima wasn't even looking at me. "Now are we gonna play or are you just gonna continue staring at me." I asked in an annoyed tone. They stopped staring at me, going back to practicing. Kags put an arm around my shoulder, pulling me in close to him and then taking me over to the bench. "You sure you're okay to practice..?" He asked, concern filling his voice. I nodded, fiddling with the sleeves of the hoodie I had on. We walked over to the court, hinata dragged kags away to practice sets so I was left practicing serves.
Practice went by quickly, I spent most of it perfecting my float serve as well as another serve I had been working on. I did catch narita and Kinoshita glaring at me from time to time only to be yelled at to get back to practice by Ennoishita. I didn't really care that they were looking at me weirdly, although I didn't really care about much these days.
"Yamaguchi-senpai." I snapped out of my thoughts, seeing one of the first years in front of me. "Is there a problem, Sato-kun?" I asked. "Oh um I was just wondering if you could teach me how to do the float serve sometime..." He asked.Sato-kun was quite shy and rarely ever asked for help with anything. He was one of the new middle blockers, not surprising since the kid was 6'3. I smiled at him." Yeah I could teach you, as long as you ask Hinata-senpai to help you work on your spikes." He looked down, fiddling with his fingers. "Fine." "We have a deal then." He nodded, running off to go talk to Hinata. "Tadashi..." I heard a voice call from behind me. The smile on my face faded and I sighed, turning around to see Tsukishima standing behind me. I stared him down, not bothering to speak to him. "Can we talk?" I rolled my eyes. I was in no mood to talk to him, especially after what he did. I barely opened my mouth to speak before Tsukishima cut me off. "Look... I get that you're mad at me but come on, childhood friends remember. You should of forgiven me by now." I stared at him in disbelief... Did he really just say that..? After all the shit he's put me through. "Wow, that's low even for you... Not even an apology. I'm not forgiving you anytime soon Tsukishima... Good luck being on your own." I threw the ball I had at him, watching him catch it before I walked away. I walked towards kags, grabbing his arm. "Classes are about to start... Let's go." He nodded, following me out of the gym.
I walked to my class after dropping kags off at his. I walked in. The room fell silent as my classmates stated at me. I awkwardly walked over to my desk, seeing things scribbled onto it... Just who else had Tsukishima told. I read over the words carved into my desk. "Freak, f@g, whore, tr@nny, daddy issues, slut, die, wrist reveal XD." I reread them over and over again to the point where they were the only thing I could think about. I held back tears as I grabbed my hand sanitiser from my bag, putting some on my desk hoping the alcohol would get the pen off. My classmates snickered and giggled under their breaths, they whispered to each other, most likely talking about me as I wiped the insults off my desk. The ink came off but the imprints were still there... Now I know Tsukishima didn't just tell the team. "Alright, settle down." the teacher finally walked in. I didn't pay attention to the lesson. I zoned out, staring at the view from the window and hoping my classmates wouldn't do anything too extreme to me. I had been bullied all throughout elementery school until I met Tsukishima... Now he was the reason I was being targeted again.
The rest of my classes went by quickly. I had been insulted, tripped, misgenderd, called slurs and shoved... News had travelled fast and now most of the other seconds years knew. Some of them were nice, offering me support and congratulating me on coming out, others not so much. During lunch I overheard two boys planning to jump me after school so nowI was hiding out by the old vending machines, waiting for them to get bored and leave. Practice had been cancelled so Ennoishita could 'talk' with narita and Kinoshita. I could see the school entrance from where I was sat. They were waiting for me... "Tadashi, what are you doing?" I jumped, turning to see Kageyama there. "Tobio, jesus a warning!" I half whispered, dragging him down to hide with me. "What's going on..?" He asked, confused by my tone of voice. I sighed. "Is there a way to leave without using the front entrance...?" I asked. "Yeah there's the exit by the cafeteria... Why though?" "It's a long story."
I got up, walking quickly over to the cafeteria. Kags followed behind, trying to keep up. "Tadashi, seriously what's going on?!" I kept walking ahead, panicking about the thought of my other classmates seeing me. "Like I said, it's a long story." I quickened my pace, looking around, paranoia completely taking over my mind. "Tadashi, tell me whats going on!" He grabbed my wrist, stopping me and turning me around to face him. "Let's just say that I think I'm in danger..." Silence, only for a moment though. "You might be in WHAT?!"
