I LAID IN BED, unable to sleep. After Marcus and I watched movies, I decided it was best to sleep in my own bed for the night. After contemplating for an hour or so, I decided to slip out of bed and make my way back over to his house.

I knocked on his window, but there was no answer. I tried to call him, but there was no answer. Finally, I called Max. "Hey, I'm outside of Marcus' window, but he's not answering. Can you wake him up?"

"Shit, Amar. He's not home." I could tell I woke her up.

"Oh, sorry. Where is he?"

She hesitated, almost scared to tell me something. "He took his motorcycle for a ride."

"He did what? Why the hell did he do that?"

"Hold on, I'll let you in." She hung up and quickly opened his window for me to climb through.

"Why would you let him do such an idiotic thing? Does he even know how to ride it?"

"I don't know." She shrugged with a guilty look on her face. "Look, I'm sure he's fine. How different is it from driving a car?"

"I'm calling him again." I dialed his number, waiting for a response. I groaned once I heard the familiar sound of his voicemail. "Max, he's not answering."

"Relax, he's gonna be fine. He's probably riding it right now. You know how texting and driving don't mix." She hugged me, rubbing my back.

"What if something's happened to him?" Max looked at me thoughtfully, finally saying something.

"What time is it?"

"I don't know, like three?" Her eyes widened. "What?"

"He left around one. I didn't realize it was that late." She grabbed her phone, ringing him.

"Shit, what if something really happened to him?" I grabbed my phone, making my way to the window.

"Where are you going?" She put her phone back in her pocket, following me.

"To look for him. I don't wanna wait around, I have to find him. Even if he's perfectly fine." I crawled out of his window, landing on the ground with a thud.

"So what, we're just gonna walk all night to look for him?" Max fell onto the grass, putting her shoes on.

"If that's what it takes." I shrugged, walking down the road.

"God, I hate my brother, and I hate you for being so in love with him." She crossed her arms, clearly cold.

"You can't help who you fall for." I shrugged Marcus' jacket off, handing it to her. "I don't know when we-" I cut myself off, my eyes growing wide at the sight in front of me.

"Amar? What's wrong?" Max followed my line of vision, immediately letting out a gasp. "Shit. Come on." She dragged me closer to the truck and motorcycle that were lying on the ground.
