"I tried to be good but I couldn't, but when you came into the my life I didn't have to try any longer. - Diavolo Castillo"

Suddenly I felt light raindrops on my bare skin. In a matter of seconds, it started pouring. We ran up the steps and down a street. The car was parked quite far from the beach so instead Kai pulled me into a small cafe.

We sat down at a table near the window where we both could see the rain that covered the streets. A waiter came shortly after we had sat down. "What can I get for both of you?" I turned to Kai. He answered for the both of us. "Two medium, black coffees please."

"How would you know if I like my coffee black?" He turned his head so our eyes met. The waiter left still trying to tuck the notepad back into his pocket.

"You had a black coffee this morning." I rolled my eyes, leaned back in my chair as did Kai."Well, are you going to answer the question?" The waiter came with our coffees, sitting them down at our table. I thanked him then turned back to Kai. He was sipping his coffee slowly, looking out the window.

"I was eight years old."

He spoke in a calm voice. I took the coffee that was sitting on the table and took a sip. My eyes were locked on him, well it looked like he was in his own little world.

"What's your story, why did you do it?" He hesitated for a moment before speaking again. After taking another sip of his coffee he spoke.

"I didn't have a choice, if I wouldn't have done it I would have been beaten until I was black and blue. The man I killed was an older man, when I first got a look at him he had been beaten to a tea.

Fingers were missing, body parts were in places they shouldn't have been. I was brought down to the basement one night, and my father handed me a gun. He told me that if I didn't kill the older man he would do what he had done to the older man to me. I knew he wasn't kidding because he had done it before.

So I did...

I shot the older man right in the center of his head. I watched as the life struck out of him in a matter of seconds till he collapsed to the floor. Well, I stood inches away from the concrete that was now covered in crimson red blood.

He was proud, the men in the room were patting me on the back telling me I had a real talent, that I did a great job, and that I would grow up to be one of the best assassins.

That night I stood in the room eyeing the man I had just killed. Trying my very hardest to hold back the tears that were beginning to cloud my eyes. Knowing that crying was considered being weak and no one that walked in my father's house could be weak.

Later that night I stood in the mirror looking at the person in the mirror. My reflection was there. But I wasn't.

I couldn't get the thought out of my head that I had taken the life of a potential father, brother, or son...

Before I was even born I was meant to be a heartless, emotionless assassin that my father would use.

At first, I tried hard to convince myself that I wasn't a monster, that I wasn't the devil, even though everyone told me I was.

But after a while, after the endless amount of beatings and training I encountered; the people I was sent to kill without a choice, I believed it.

The scars on my body proved it, and the blood that would drench my clothes every time I came home proved it.

I never was once innocent, not when I was born and I won't ever be. I stopped trying to convince myself and instead embraced it. Excepting that this was who I was meant to be.

And when I did that I became someone I couldn't recognize anymore. My mom didn't even recognize me. That's how I got the name Diavolo. I didn't just get it, I earned it."

"You might be the devil or a monster in other people's eyes, but I can help but see the good in you. And I don't believe you're a monster, you never chose to be this person and even if you did that still would change the way I feel about you."

"I'm not a good person Aurora."

I nodded my head and agreed with what he said before drinking every last drop of coffee I had."Neither am I."

We looked at each other for a minute before the waiter came over to our table again. "I'll take those for you." The waiter came and took the empty coffee mugs.

Kai stood up and placed a 10 dollar bill on the table before locking hands with me and leading me to the doors back onto the rainy streets. We didn't run through the rain, we walked, letting the cold water drip onto our faces leaving them to glisson in the moonlight. Suddenly I was freezing again.

My body was now covered in goosebumps and my body was shaking. Kia looked down at me and began to take his suit jacket off leaving him in a dress shirt. He slipped it over my shoulder without saying a word. His eyes were glistening from the water as he looked at me. I thanked him well and he interlocked my hand back into his.

His hand was huge and ruff I assume from frequently holding weapons such as guns and knives. We continued to walk down the streets till we could finally see my black Lamborghini parked at the side of the road. "I'm sorry you had to go through that." My tone was calm and relaxed. Kai didn't answer, he just continued to walk to the car.

"Can I have a kiss?" I shook my head no, giggling. "No?" Kai repeated what I said with an annoying voice.

"I'll kiss you on one condition." Kai motioned with his hand to continue. "You have to catch me first." I lifted my dress and started running down the street. The rain hit my face. I had a disadvantage since I'm wearing heels and a tight dress.

Kai wrapped his arms around me lifting me off the ground twirling me in a circle. He put me on the ground and pressed our bodies together. He was looking down at me with a smirk."Caught you." I stood on my tippy toes and pulled down his head smashing my lips on his. Kai pushed me against a brick wall and ran his hands up my thighs and grabbed my boob. A big sound of thunder echoed in the air making me jump. Kai broke the kiss and we ran to the car.

When he started the car it made a roaring sound before he began to back up and exit the street. I was still wearing his jacket, my hair was damp, and I'm sure the little mascara I was wearing was smudged. I took my feet out of my shoes and brought them up to my chest.

Kai's suit jacket was way too big for me making it look like a dress. The arms wear long, letting me bury my hand in them, well wrapping my arms around my legs and staring out the window.

It was still pouring you could tell by the street lights that showed the reflection of the rain. I could see Kai glance in my direction every few minutes.

The rest of the drive was silent. I went back to leaning on the car window watching as the rain fell. The silence in the car wasn't awkward at all. We both sat in silence occasionally glancing at each other. I took the opportunity to look a little closer at Kai.

His hands were big, the veins in his arms and hands stood out but what really caught my eye were the scars...

I looked at his hands before but the room was dark, not giving me a good look. Scars lined the outside of his hands. They were short and jagged; some longer and more evident, others were faded. A few had reached his fingers, but they didn't seem to be as bad as the scars that he had on his knuckles and wrists. They were lighter and looked like they had been opened multiple times, not giving them time to heal properly.

I felt like I could look at him for hours but in reality, only a minute or two before we had made it back to the mansion.

As soon as we pulled up the driveway, Kai turned off the car, shoved the keys in his pocket, and got out. I threw my shoes back on, then pulled up Kai's suit jacket so it was covering my head. The rain was beginning to soak my dress, making it cling to my body even more than it already was.
