"People say it gets better but it doesn't. It just gets different, that all."

Aurora Vega

Surprisingly I woke up in my bed, I don't remember walking up here which means that Kai must have carried me up here.

Just the thought made my cheeks blush bright red.

Little softy.

I woke up from the sun shining in my room. I stretched my arms and legs and walked over to the window. I stood there admiring how beautiful of a day it was. The sun was out, there was no clouds, the birds were chirping, and you could hear the sound of the city that was a few blocks down. I took my hair out of the bun I had put it in last night and made my way to the bathroom.

I walked over to the sink and washed my face with cold water, then I continued to do my regular morning routine till I was ready to pick out what I wanted to wear. I got dressed quickly and walked downstairs to see Vince and Gray sitting on the couch watching TV. They both had a few cuts and bruises visible but nothing time couldn't heal.

I walked into the kitchen smelling Julia's amazing cooking as always. "Aurora, how are you honey?" I smiled. "I'm good, how are you?"

She turned to look at me. "I'm doing good, I heard what happened, are you sure you're okay." I nodded slowly with a small smile. "Yeah, I'll be fine."

Julia took off her apron and sat it on the counter making her way over to me. She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tightly. "Thank you for looking out for my boy, I don't know what I would do if I ever lost him." I rubbed her back.

"You don't need to thank me, Julia, I would do it 100 more times if I had to." I started letting go of her.

"You really are amazing for him, I don't think I have ever seen him happy. But when he's around you I can see that he is. I'm happy you're here Aurora and so are most of the other people in this house."

"Thank you, that means a lot." I smiled sheepishly not sure what else to say.  "Would you like me to help you with something?" I mustered up the courage to ask. I saw her eyes light up and I knew I said the right thing.

"I would love that!" I grabbed an apron and put it on walking over to see what she was making. I also flipped my hair down and tied it into a high ponytail.

It was now around five, I helped Julia with preparing supper most of the day and went to the gym to get in a good workout. After taste testing everything we made I was in need of some exercise.

It didn't take long for me to work up a sweat and be exhausted, so half an hour later I was done and went to take a shower.

The water was nice and warm running down my back and hair. As I showered I thought of everything that has happened in the past few weeks.

Although I still haven't forgotten about killing two people. I've accepted the fact that it was my only option.

After I was done with my shower I slid open the glass doors and wrapped a towel around my waist. The coldness of the air made my body shiver.

I walked out of the bath to see Kai sitting on the bed with his legs spread out and a smirk on his face as he eyes me up and down. He got up and started walking closer to me. "What are you doing?" I ask.

"Nothing." He looked down at me as he pressed me to the wall with a faint thump. "It doesn't look like nothing, nor does it feel like nothing," I said.

"Get dressed and meet me at the door, I'm taking you out." That was all he said before leaving the room. "Wait, taking me where?" I didn't get a response.
