Zoya googled about the contents of the medicines and got shocked. The medicines were for cancer. Sahir was battling cancer? No! This might be a lie. Maybe she had made a mistake in typing the name of the medicine or she must have read something wrong. This can never be true.
She heard the doorbell and when the servant opened the door, the doctor entered the room.
"Where is the patient?" Doctor asked the servant.
"Doctor, come with me", Zoya said.
The doctor nodded and followed Zoya to the guestroom. The doctor told Zoya and Alvira to leave the room. As Zoya was standing outside the room, she wiped her sweat. She needed to be sure that whatever she saw was just an illusion. She ran towards Sahir's room and started searching for something. She opened all the drawers of his room and read every piece of paper. She continued wiping her tears and searching for something. She saw his bag which he had taken to Delhi. She opened the bag and saw a file which had the name of Hospital on it. She hastily opened the file and read it. It had Sahir's name on it. It had a few prescriptions and reports attached to it. She read the reports and her tears made the papers wet. He has blood cancer. Again! She was going to lose another important person of her life again! She sat on the bed with a thud and the papers fell from her hands. She saw Sahir's photo on the bedside table and took it in her hands. She caressed the photo and broke down in tears. She hugged the photo close to her heart and cried in pure helplessness. She tried to control her sobs but got hiccups. She placed the photo on the table and walked towards the guestroom.
She saw Alvira caressing Sahir's hair and tears started flowing down her eyes again. When she saw Alvira standing up to leave the room, she immediately hid beside the room and wiped her tears. Alvira left the room and Zoya entered the room after taking a deep breath.
Sahir looked at her and gave her a smile. She gave him a fake smile and walked to him. She took a chair and sat there, beside Sahir.
"How are you feeling now?" Zoya asked.
"Better", Sahir replied.
Zoya nodded with a fake smile and caressed his cheek.
"Why didn't you tell me anything?" Zoya questioned.
"What are you talking about?" Sahir asked in confusion.
"Please don't leave me. What would I do without you? I had thought that we both will be together forever, but why did YOU prove me wrong?" Zoya asked him.
"Zoya, I am not getting anything. What happened?" Sahir asked.
Zoya didn't say anything but she placed her head on his chest. Sahir was taken aback by this.
"I am sorry. Hume aaj jaake pata chala ki aap humari zindagi mein kitni ahmiyat rakhte hain aur aaj hi hume pata chala ki aap hume chhodke...." She chocked on her words. (I got to know how much you matter to me and today itself, I got to know that you are leaving...)
