Mr. Evans walked into the lecture hall classroom. The professor always had a weird walk, Autumn had noticed. A limp, maybe from an accident when he was in his late twenties from motorcycle crash. Autumn would never make such a specific guess but her suspicions weren't too far off from that. She would have guessed something as he got in a fight and someone hit him with a bat. He was a relatively scrawny man for his age, so it wasn't a bad guess. Another thing Bailey guessed was that maybe he was born with a limp, but that wouldn't make sense to Autumn. She understood body deformities, it came with the one class she paid attention to in high school, so she would have noticed if one leg was shorter than the other. The two best friends have had several arguments about what could have given Mr. Evans his limp. Neither of them would ever guess correctly though, "How's everyone's September going?" Mr. Evans asked the dormant class. Everyone was still asleep, so all he got was a muttered response of 'good' and 'it's alright'. The beginning of the school year is always quiet Evans told himself, but he still chose to ignore it, starting his lecture. He waddled over to the podium, with the smartboard starting a slideshow. "Does anyone know the different parts of the nervous system? Anyone in here take high school psychology?"
A few kids raised their hands
"Well, we'll start with the basics" Evans offered a kind smile, clicking a button on the small white remote he held in his hand every single class that moved his slide to the next one.

"Kill me now" I mumbled to myself
I didn't even know why I was still in college. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my life and, the cherry on top, I just quit my job and can't pay for anything.
I opened my phone to scroll through Instagram for a while, keeping my head down. Not like the professor cared anyways. They don't care if you pass or not, it's your ass if you can't graduate at the end of your senior semester. I got bored pretty quickly, starting to bounce my knee and fiddle with my fingers as I waited for this lecture to be over.
A few minutes later I felt myself start to doze off. I tried to stay awake but the past few nights of drinking and partying had caught up with me. I felt my eyes get heavy, allowing me to eventually fall asleep
"Autumn" I felt someone shake my arm
I groaned and covered my head with my arms, wanting to go back to sleep "Fuck off"
"No"
I rolled my eyes. I recognized the voice. It was my best friend, Bailey, trying to get me to wake up from my slumber
"Come on Audi, we have to go. Everyone else already left and I wanna go home" Bailey said with an eye roll
I picked my head up, being greeted with the fact that everyone had left "Did my dumbass really sleep through the whole thing?"
"Yep," Bailey smiled, holding her textbooks close to her chest as if she was hugging them with her life. I admired her, in every way someone could admire their best friend. Bailey was always so organized, but also knew the balance between fun and work. She got all her stuff turned in and kept her grades up before she would go to a party with me, which I respect.
"Why do you wanna go home so bad?" I asked and started to stand up, grabbing my bag "Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Both? Neither?" I ask as she just shook her head
"No I have homework but I also really wanna go to Tommy's party" Bailey mumbled, turning around on her heels once I was ready to go
I just followed, trying to keep my smile to myself "Tommy's throwing a party? Thomas Charleston?" I laughed "The kid that got in a fight with a raccoon in the parking lot?"
