Raven's POV:

****5 months later*****

I was wandering the halls, taking in the quiet of the morning. Everyone was still asleep because the sun had barely risen in the sky. It had become my morning routine to take a walk in the morning, taking in the quietness before the storm which is the Wayne family.

I turned to walk outside in the garden, only to find Bruce Wayne watching out the window. I walk over to him and smile in greeting. "Good morning, Bruce."

"Morning, Raven," he turned to me. "How did you sleep?"

"Well, you know..." I shrug and smile. I haven't been sleeping well for the past few months.

"You have to be getting rest," Bruce's voice was concerned. "You have the future prince or princess in your belly, so you have to take care of yourself and the child."

I smiled and put my hand on my swollen belly. I was now six months pregnant (estimating that I got pregnant around our wedding night). My belly was finally showing, which made me both proud and sad. I was so happy to be closer to the birth date (wanting to meet the baby as fast as I could) and sad because Damian wasn't here to witness this with me.

It had been five months and I have only heard from Damian a handful of times. I understand that he is busy, and as I understand, this mission was far more than anyone suspected. Damian is determined to get this killer (Slade Wilson).

When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted nothing more than to write and tell him all about it. I wanted to beg him to come home and be with me. But I just couldn't. Damian needed to catch this person, and I didn't want to cause a distraction from it.

Bruce and I had discussed this when I found out I was pregnant.

"Raven," Bruce's voice was soft. He was looking up from the papers he was signing. I was in his office, helping out with the documents that were accumulating on Damian's desk. I had gotten permission to help out, and I worked alongside Bruce almost every day now.

"Yes?" I looked up.

"How are you feeling this morning?" He leaned back in his chair.

"I feel fine," I  say, puzzled at his sudden interest. It is true that most mornings I have gotten sick, but this morning seemed to be better.

"I... I think you might be pregnant," he said, trying to ease the news (but failing).

"WHAT!?" I stand up. Damian and I had talked about this before he left, and we agreed to talk about this after he had gotten back. Now that I am pregnant, what is he going to think?

"I have been with you for the past month, and I have noticed subtle changes in you," he stood up and walked over to me. He put his hand on my shoulders. "I know this is not the time, and with Damian not around... but I will help you with anything you need."

"I am pregnant," I repeat, trying to wrap my head around it.

"I want you to see a doctor today. I have already called for one, and I would like for you to go see them," he said as if he was trying not to set me off. I wasn't mad though. I was confused, excited, sad, and happy. But I was not mad.

"Bruce, what am I supposed to tell Damian?" I sat back in the chair, not certain my legs could handle standing anymore. "I mean, I can't just write him a letter?"

"No, that wouldn't be wise. He would get distracted then sloppy and that could cause harm to him," Bruce shook his head. "I know the mission is turning out to be more than we all thought, but I do believe Damian will come back soon."
