"Real subtle." Reauwyn mused.
"Very understated." Felix agreed with a roll of his eyes.
"Why are magics so damn over the top?" Lucas asked annoyance clear in his tone.
"I can only assume that they get it from Angus. He's seven plus feet of self-importance." I replied, "Doesn't matter though. Their architecture isn't why we're here. Let's head inside."
We made it inside, but Alec's snotty receptionist tried to tell me that he was too busy to see me today. Bullshit. She was currently frozen in place at her desk while I strolled into his office.
"Please just come on in and make yourself at home." Alec muttered in annoyance.
"Don't mind if I do." I replied before lounging sideways across a fancy chair.
"How's your war going?" Alec asked.
"Fine. We won. It's over." I replied.
Alec snapped his head up at that.
"So does that mean you'll be returning my Paladine? Are you going to be coming here?" Alec asked.
"Dude you've lost those guys. They can't come back. Their magic totally spazed out and now they all share a mark with Wren." Lucas replied with a chuckle.
"I seem to recall telling you that if you left Georgia we were done Alec." I replied.
"Fine. Then why are you here?" Alec demanded.
"Well, I guess I just wanted to see if you had changed. I don't know. Maybe you had found a conscious and decided that being an asshole isn't cool. I guess I was hoping you would love me. Stupid right?" I mused.
"Wren-" Alec started, but I cut him off with a raised hand.
Waving my hand, I broke the bond. Alec clutched at his chest and neck desperately. Guess he couldn't handle the pain. Personally I didn't think it was that bad. It ended pretty quickly.
"Done. Do you want another mate?" I asked.
"That's not possible and you know it." Alec spat.
"Didn't ask you if it was possible. I asked if you wanted a new one. Maybe a full-blooded witch who will want to play Holly House Wife and provide you with babies." I continued.
"Yes, I would like a new mate." Alec practically growled.
"Great. I hope she's everything you ever wanted. You heard the man Angus! Chop Chop!" I declared.
"Who is she talking to?" Alec asked the guys.
"Well I can't be certain, but if I remember correctly she said Angus was the one to create your kind." Felix replied.
"Don't look so confused. Wren died during the war. Sacrificed herself to save Jason. Death apparently agreed with her. All her powers were fully unlocked. The Gods who created us all decided that she was too powerful to ignore, so they made her a Goddess. Now she's going to rule the underworld." Reauwyn elaborated in his typical bored tone.
"A Goddess?" Alec questioned.
"Yeap." Lucas replied popping the P, "She had some demands of her own of course. Hence you getting a new mate."
Whipping his head in my direction, Alec seethed, "You didn't think it was important to mention that you're somehow a Goddess now?"
"Why should I? You didn't want to be matched with me. Your main concern has always been your coven. There's no way to run this coven and still travel back and forth between here and The Other." I replied with a shrug.
