It was finally happening. Charlie was going full cowboy. He found a farm about twenty minutes away from Dieppe that let you ride horses. And now they were on the way there. "So why is it that I am already dressed for riding and you're not," Madison questioned as she rubbed Ghost's head. Ghost had been dressed for the occasion as well and had on one of Charlie's bandana's around his neck.
Charlie chuckled. "Well because it would be awkward for me to drive with jeans and leather on top."
Madison arched her brow. "I have no idea what you are talking about. You are wearing shorts right now anyway."
Charlie shook his head with a smile. "Just wait until we get there. We can also pick some fruit and veggies and get fresh meat there."
Madison scratched behind Ghost's ear. "You hear that boy? You don't have to try stealing this time?" Ghost barked and looked like he was pouting at his mother. "You are lucky that people here are so nice." Ghost had tried to swipe food out of the store when they stopped for gas the other day.
Charlie laughed. "Don't worry Ghost. You can chase the ducks and chickens." Ghost sat up and barked happily with his tail wagging.
--
Charlie parked the car in the little "parking lot" that lead to the rest of the farm. "You are going to love this. Come on." Charlie jumped out, grabbing a bag he had put in the backseat. Madison opened the door to let out Ghost first. The dog shook himself and then sat waiting for her. Charlie came around the front of the car and held his hand out to help her out. She didn't need the help but Charlie was just a gentleman like that. Charlie gave her a once over. "My little cowgirl," he said with a smile. She had on a pair of blue jeans that fell over a pair of paddock boots that Charlie had picked out for her. She had taken a flannel of Charlie's and cut it into a crop top that was tied under her chest. Charlie reached into the car and pulled out the white cowboy hat he had gotten for the occasion. He set it carefully on her curls. "I made sure to get it satin lined so your hair wouldn't get messed up.
Madison smiled and giggled. "You are too much." She used the extra leverage from the boots to move forward to peck his lips. Charlie moaned and pulled her closer to not break the kiss. He stroked his thumb on her lower back just above the waistband of her jeans. Madison melted against him and held the front of Charlie's shirt to keep from falling. Her knees felt weak. Their kiss was interrupted by Ghost barking and running in circles near the path leading to the rest of the farm. The both of them sighed. "Okay, we get it. No human babies for a long time," she muttered.
Charlie tripped and had to catch himself from face planting on the ground. "I'm okay. I'm okay," he rushed out when Madison looked back at him.
--
Madison and Charlie walked over to the stables where the other people waiting for horse rides stood. "Looks like it's a small group so we might get to explore a bit more," Charlie whispered to Madison.
