honestly people were making such a big deal out of nothing.
i tried to completely ignore it and focus on other things.
and that made me realize how weird nini had been acting lately.
there was just something off with her.
i suddenly snapped out of my thoughts as i got a text.

"hey ricky" i hear as i turn to see nini behind me.
"who are you texting?" she says peeking over my shoulder.
"my mom. she needs someone to watch my little sis." i say.
"i'm free if you need me to" she says.
"it's fine you don't have to do that neens" i say putting my phone in my pocket.
"no really! i know what you're going through is hard and that's one more thing off of your plate. plus i don't know your sister that well so it'd be a good opportunity to get to know her better." she says.
"ok i guess. i'll tell my mom. thanks neens." i say giving her a quick hug.

"hey nicole" i say as her mom drops her off.
"she'll come back when ricky does ok?" mrs. bowen says.
"ok." i say.

"because you're basically my babysitter. you aren't gonna let me go out or anything. it's always like this when my parents are fighting." she says.

"ok we aren't THAT far in age. i'm a teenager too. i mean i'd much rather be at michael's party." i say.
"but of course i can't come" she says.
"i mean if you're down for that we can go." i say.

"yeah. c'mon let's go."
"wait you're serious?" she says with excitement on her face.
"yeah of course! i mean ricky's like my brother so technically you're like my sister." i say.
"i don't have any clothes to wear to a party though. i mean i thought all i would be doing all day is sitting around watching youtube." she says.
