A Little later, Jake got dry as they were going down the road. Jake and Shaggy spotted some tents not far from the castle.
"Like, look at all those tents. I wonder if the circus is in town."
"Actually shaggy, that's the sports field for the highland games, an old compilation featuring traditional Scottish sporting events." Velma explained as a burly Scotsman threw a large cabernet and it landed head over heels in a straight line.
"Who's idea was it to pitch a telephone pole?" Jake asked, confused.
"That's called the caber toss Jake." Velma explained. "It's supposed to be a test of strength and skill."
"If there's a pizza eating contest then count me in." Jake said smiling as the gang laughed at his joke. They soon saw a wrecked boat by the beach.
"Holy..." Jake's jaw dropped.
"Jinkies. I wonder what happened." Velma spoke up.
"Then let's check it out." Fred added as he drove the van down.
By the wrecked boat 2 men were fixing the large hole done to the hull, and there was a young woman with them. She had red hair like Daphne, but it was short and spiky, diamond blue eyes, white skin, wearing light green long sleeve shirt with a purple short sleeve shirt on top, with a green/purple skirt, and red shoes. As the mystery machine pulled up, Daphne waved from the cab.
"Shannon!" She called out, getting the other redheads attention.
"Daphne!" Shannon called out happily and the 2 redheads shared a happy hug. The gang was following behind and saw the hug. Jake smiled and took a picture of the 2.
"Guys, this is my cousin Shannon." Daphne introduced Shannon to the others.
"We should have known by her great sense of color coordination." Velma spoke up, noticing the similarities between the red heads outfits.
"Of Course she is a blake. Oh yea Shannon," Daphne said and led Jake up to her.
"This is Jake, I'm his legal guardian." Jake was nervous about meeting his technically cousin.
"Oh that's lovely when did you meet him?" Shannon asked smiling at Jake sweetly. The gang told her about how he was found in the woods and they took him in. Shannon shook her head.
"There are alot of bad people in this world but luckily there are people like you in the world." Shannon looked at Jake. "So tell me about yourself." Jake took a deep breath.
"I've been with the gang for years, we have solved a lot of mysteries and they've helped me grow as a person." Daphne hugged him happy that he talked without needing her help. Jake looked at the hole in the boat.
"What happened to the boat?" He asked her.
"Oh.. that you see.." Shannon started but got cut off by another van it pulled in front of the mystery machine. It was light blue with seaweed headlights on it, with a Nessie statue on the roof, a Nessie head on the front grill and the name of the van was the loch ness monster machine.
"Wow cool ride." Fred commented.
"No, what are you doing?" Dell chillman climbed out of his van, and headed down to the boat. "This whole area has to be roped off for evidence."
"Not now del." Shannon sighed.
"Friend of yours?" Daphne asked.
"Hardly." Shannon huffed.
"We've got 20 eyewitnesses. A large wake." Dell told shag, scoob, and jake.
"Something big, something really, really, really, big." Then he ran to the hole in the boat.
"Why can't it ever be something small? Something really, really, really small?" Shaggy asked the 2 who both nodded.
"This is major." Dell took some photos the 3 looked at him confused. "Don't you see? It's because of the games. All the activity has distributed the creature."
"RIPE" Scooby jumped into Jake's arms shaking.
"Really?" Velma asked, walking up to the 3. "The highland games made the loch ness monster caused this accident? I'm sorry but that sounds like a load of baloney."
"The young lady is right." A thick scottish accent spoke up. Between the 2 Van's, they saw Lachlan Haggart, along with his 2 sons, Colin and Angus. "The only disturbed creature around here is you, del chillman. Why, me own sons were out there, and they're not Spooked a bit."
"Angus was scared." Colin joked.
"I was not colin!" Angus snapped and the 2 started to wrestle but stopped when their father blew a whistle.
"That's enough. Save it for the games, laddies." He ordered and the 2 sons ran off. "Now come on, go on down to the track. Off you go." With that he headed off on his way.
"But mr haggart, wait!" Dell climbed back up to the road. "You in great danger, sir. You can't just ignore this."
"We could try." Shaggy commented.
"You'll see, man." Dell told shannon as he climbed back in his van. "I told you those games were a mistake shannon. Now the monsters after you!" With that he left leaving the others.
