Warnings: none

I sit on the couch in my small apartment, skimming through a magazine while sipping on my morning cup of tea. Of course, it wasn't morning. More like mid afternoon, I'd woken up late after staying out with Malcolm all night. He had such a nice way of making me forget about the world and the problems that seem to float so naturally into my life. It was like he temporarily sheltered me from what I thought to be such a cruel dark world, and I love that he has that power.

As I flip through the magazine, I reminisce about the night before, the feeling of safety that I felt with Malcolm washing over me.

"Come on y/n, I won't let Bon bother you." He says, smiling in my direction

"I know, it's just, he's so.....strange?" I reply

"Yea I guess he is, but he's never been the type to bother people." He shrugs

"Yea that's true, I guess we can say hi."

He grabs my hand and we start running into the night and across the streets of  Sydney Australia. We giggled and smiled as we ran through the streets, tripping as we turned a corner and laughing even harder. It started to rain and we both looked at each other, laughing while we made it closer to the studio.  The rain pours down, almost drenching us before we made our way under a sheltered area. We hide under an awning and in a doorway, he holds my hands in his trying to keep them warm. I look out and see the rain pouring down, it was so loud it could've been mistaken for hail.

I look away and at Malcolm to see he was already looking in my direction, smiling at me.

"What're you smiling at?" I giggle

"You."

"Me?"

"Yea, you're so pretty." He says, getting shy

"Ah shut it." I blush "it's not true you know." I shrug

"What isn't?"

"That I'm as pretty as you say, it's not true."

"What do you mean it's not true? Have ye seen yourself?" He asks, pulling me closer to him "you're absolutely stunning."

"Mal shut up." I blush "it's not true." I bury my head into his chest

"It is y/n! I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, you're like an angel."

I snap back to reality when I hear my apartment door open and close with a thud.

"Y/n I'm home!" I hear Malcolm say as he walks into the room "y/n you look exhausted."

"Just a little bit." I giggle

"Well let's get you some rest then."

He take my hands in his, lifting me up from the couch and leading me into the bedroom. I lay down and he crawls in next to me, cradling me in his arms as he tells me about his day.

"I love you mal, so much." I say

"I love you too y/n, night." He kisses my cheek and I drift off to sleep
