Two photo frames stood side by side
against a yellow wall in all glory,
A teddy bear family, smiling wide,
and the other, a girl with a brolly.

And as long days went slowly by,
became years, months and weeks,
They talked of the girl, seventeen and shy -
they, her childhood friends and she,
one of her stories.

Mommy Bear said, "We're family to her,
and Little Bearie Bear is a sister too,
We're ones she'd hug to sleep,
Those rainy nights of five, when thunder boomed."

With a purse of her lips, and a dainty frown,
and a flourish of her flimsy silk dress,
The sketched girl gushed, "Oh she adores my gown.
And her Momma praised my hair and face! "

But when seventeen turned twenty,
came a framed rose in white.
The bears made truce with the pencilled girl,
and eased into the fog; lost without a fight .

A/N

This poem is actually based on two picture frames in my room, one of a girl sketched by me, and the other of a glass painting of a teddy bear family that I had been gifted on my first birthday. I extrapolated on the topic, of course.

So, I'd like to know about your opinions on this poem.

Have a good day!

Your appreciation means a lot to me.
