Ever loved the feeling of the wind in her hair from the bike rides they would take. They were just making their way back home. "Hey, son." Billy greeted. "Ever."
"Hi, Billy." She smiled.
"What's going on?" Jake asked.
"Bella called him." Billy answered. Jake walked around him.
"Hey, haven't seen you two in awhile." Charlie greeted. "You okay?"
"Yeah, we're good, Charlie. How are you?" Ever asked.
"So, you finally heard from Bella?" Jake got right to the point.
"They're extending their trip. Seems she caught a bug." Charlie answered. Jake looked down at Ever. "They want to wait until she feels better before they travel."
"She's sick." He said, his eyes trained on Ever.
"She told me not to worry, but she sounded...I don't know, off." Charlie told them.
"She'll be okay, Charlie." Sue reassured.
"Yeah." Ever agreed. "I'm sure she's okay." Her eyes met Jake's.
"Come on. Let's eat." Sue started to set the food down. Charlie moved to sit, the couple maintaining their eye contact.
"Jake." She whispered. It meant nothing to him as he turned to walk out. Billy, however, caught his arm.
"Jacob, let it go."
Jake pulled his arm away. "Come on, Ever."
"Sorry, Billy." Ever whispered, following after Jacob. "Jake, please." She tried as he got off the bike, walking to the door.
"Is it true?" Jake asked when Carlisle opened the door.
"Hello, Jacob, how are you?" Carlisle asked.
"Listen, just give it to me straight." Jake started.
"Jake, is that you?" Bella called from the other room.
"I told you everything was okay." Ever shook her head at him.
"She's here?" He asked.
"They came home two weeks ago." Carlisle answered.
"You didn't know about this?" He asked Ever.
"I've been with you." She answered as he walked up the stairs.
"Jake." Carlisle called after him. They walked into the room, Rose standing in front of Bella.
"What the hell is this?" Ever asked. Jake moved forward silently.
"I'm glad you came." Bella said from behind Rose.
"Close enough." Rose stopped him.
"What's your problem?" Jake asked.
"Watch it, Rose." Ever threatened.
"Rose, it's okay." Bella said. She moved out of the way to reveal Bella.
"You look terrible." Jake told her.
"It's true." Ever agreed. "You're actually sick."
"Yeah, it's nice to see you guys, too." Bella replied, looking at the couple.
"So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong with you?" He asked.
"Rose, you wanna help me up?" She asked. Bella stood, showing her growing stomach.
Ever gasped, covering her mouth quickly. "That isn't possible."
Jake walked away from her toward Edward. "You did this?" Jake asked.
