Lunch went pretty well.
The Avengers asked me questions to get to know me better and, often and willingly, pulled me into their speeches to put me at ease, which made me very happy.
After lunch Steve got a call and, along with Natasha, they came out of the tower saying they had a problem with Sam Wilson, also known as Falcon, and they had to fix it.
-I think I'll go to my room for a while and try to fix the drafts of the projects, if that's not a problem.- I said looking at dad.
-Go on, honey.- he smiled at me -In fact, if you want you can go to the laboratory.-
-Are you serious?- I asked, not believing my ears.
-Of course yes. Just try not to blow up the tower, ok?- He said, giving me a wink.
-Thank you, thank you, thank you.- I said hugging him.
-Nothing, honey.- he said reciprocating -J, you can unlock the 15th floor for y/n, thanks.-
-Done, Mr. Stark.- said the voice.
-Jarvis, let's go to the lab. I have a couple of things to check.- I smiled.
I quickly said goodbye to the other Avengers, then got on the elevator and went down to the 15th floor.
When I got to the floor, I placed my hand on a metal square near the door to scan the fingerprints.
-Confirmed login. Welcome, Miss Stark.-
-Thanks Jarvis.- I smiled as soon as I set foot in the room.
The smell of metal, gear oil, and freshly printed paper filled my nostrils.
I looked around and saw that there were three desks.
The first was neatly ordered, the sheets stacked neatly with a paperweight on top, some books, a two-screen computer, which had a photo of all the Avengers as a background while the second said "Keep calm and don't smash", a pen holder, some it posts with written tips on how to stay calm, a microscope and some test tubes with a red liquid, which I thought was blood.
I knew immediately that station was that of Dr. Banner.
Then I shifted my gaze to the second, much less tidy.
The papers were scattered for no apparent reason, there were various post it notes with sketchy ideas, a computer, also with two screens, the first background represented dad and mom at their wedding, while the second was a black car, there was also a screwdriver and an obviously incomplete project.
-This has to be Dad's desk.- I thought as I sat in his swivel chair.
The third desk, however, was empty.
I looked at dad and divas computer and found that a password was needed.
Not knowing what to write, I clicked on the clue.
"Tony Stark's First Love." I read "Too easy." I typed "Pepper Potts", but it was wrong "Dad, don't tell me that..." I typed "I AM IRON MAN'' and it unlocked "Seriously Dad?" I thought laughing.
As soon as I clicked send the background changed, becoming a photo of me and my mother, in which I was 6/7 years old.
I smiled involuntarily, then decided to get to work on one of the old armor gloves.
-Jarvis, do you still have the design of this glove?- I asked.
-Yes, y/n.-
-Perfect J. Could you reproduce the hologram of the structure and see which parts can be improved and modernized?- I said quickly, tying my hair into a messy bun.
-Of course, that's it.-
-Thank you very much Jarvis. Could you randomly put one of my playlists, please?- I asked, taking the screwdriver and starting to disassemble the glove.
-This is done too.- said the voice, a second later he heard the notes of the song "I have no friends" by Cadium and I started humming.
-I have no friends but that's okay
I don't need them anyway
I do my best, all on my own
And I'd just rather be alone
Rather be alone

I have no friends but I'll be fine
I don't need them to pass the time
And when I put my resting bitch face on, I look stone cold
I'd just rather be alone
Rather be alone
I have no friends

I'd just rather be alone
Rather be alone

I have no friends, but that's okay
I don't need them anyway
I do my best all on my own
And I'd just rather be alone.
Rather be alone
I have no friends

You'll never know what's on my mind
You'll never know the secrets that I'm keeping
I'll scare you off with my crazy eyes
'Cause all I need is me myself and

I don't got no shame
'Cause my life is just a game
And I don't care who's been keeping score
Everybody thinks I'm strange
It's just something in my brain
Don't know who they're being normal for.- I hummed as I looked at the old design and thought about how to make the glove better.
Even though Dad had done a near-perfect job.
-Jarvis, how much would the functionality improve if you shrink this mechanism and move it a bit, so that you have more space for other gears and mechanisms?- I asked as I zoomed in and out the holograms to check what the design might look like.
-It would improve by 12%, according to my calculations.-
-Ok. I was hoping for something more, but 12% is already something. I have to come up with other ideas to improve it if I want to get to the level of dad.-
-Why do you always compare yourself to your father? You are way ahead of most of your peers.-
-I know I know. I just want to make him proud of me. I know he loves me but he would rather have a son than a daughter. I just want to show him that I can do what he would does.-
-Okay, just remember that he loves you, even Mrs. Stark and even me that I have no emotions.-
-I know, Jarvis. Thank you very much.- I smiled and went back to work.
