Oikawa began to awake from a fitful sleep, eyes fluttering open, he reached for his phone to turn off the alarm that he had set. The sunlight shone in through the gaps in the blinds and made him curse the fact that he had agreed to go to this stupid wedding.

He eventually crawled out of bed and entered the bathroom to shower, he felt like crap but his flight was in a few hours so he knew that he needed to get his ass into gear. He really wasn't looking forward to the extra long flight but he had promised Kuroo that he would attend.

Kawa knew that he had to eat something but he felt like he had burning acid in his stomach and an heavy feeling in his chest. He knew that he would eventually have to see 'HIM' again but he didn't think that his heart could take anymore rejection. He decided to just have black coffee even if he hated it, he just needed the caffeine buzz as he would never take any form of illicit drug.

An hour later he was sat in a limo on the way to the airport, he had asked for a normal cab as he didn't want to draw any attention to himself. He had been playing professional volleyball at Club Athletico San Juan for a year and he was a firm favourite of the ladies and also quite a few guys. He had a very large fan base even after just a short period of time, but he had no idea why. Why would anyone ever find him attractive.

When they pulled up at the airport there was a small crowd gathering and he thought, 'how the hell did they know that I was going to be here?' He got out of the car whilst pulling on a baseball cap and sun glasses trying to hide his identity. Luckily the airport staff managed to bundle him into the Business class departure lounge without too much hassle. He sat for a while looking at the planes taking off and landing whilst drinking an energy drink and trying to not let his mind wander to the day that he left Japan a year ago.

That day still haunted him, he was literally a broken shell of himself for months after. He was heartbroken, he still was, but at least the nightmares had stopped until the day that he received the wedding invitation.

ONE MONTH AGO

He had just returned from an extremely arduous practice and just wanted to eat, bathe and sleep. He pulled into the underground garage of his apartment building and then got into the private lift up to his penthouse. As he put his keys into the small bowl in the entrance hall he noticed some letters. He grabbed them and walked into the kitchen to pour himself a drink and opened them.

The letter was actually an invitation to the wedding of Kuroo Tetsuro and Kozume Kenma on July 16 at the Presidential Hotel in Tokyo. Oikawa realised that was in just over a month. He already decided that he was not going to attend.

He showered and ate and the sat in front of his television for a while trying to concentrate on an alien documentary but finding it very difficult to do so. He knew that Kuroo would be annoyed if he didn't attend as they were quite close, he remembered how the Captains had meetings and get togethers whilst in high school.

He rummaged around in his belongings and found the last photograph taken in high school of all of the team Captains, he must admit it did make him feel very nostalgic

He rummaged around in his belongings and found the last photograph taken in high school of all of the team Captains, he must admit it did make him feel very nostalgic. After about an hour he decided that it was time for him to sleep. It took him a little while but he eventually managed to drift off.

Kawa was awakened by his phone ringing, he picked it up after checking the time, it was 2am. "Hello" he answered in a sleepy voice. "Kawa bro, did I wake you". "What the fuck Kuroo it's 2am" he shouted. Kuroo giggled, "sorry man I forgot about the time difference, I'll call back later".

Kawa slammed the phone down and mumbled, "stupid rooster".
