33: freefall

                                    

                                          
Taehyung ran as fast he could into the building. his steps echoing through the warehouse as he tried to find his dead husband. He feared for Jungkook's life. what if he was already caught, what if he was shot. What if something happened? Jungkook was gone for quite a while. What if he was already too late? 
                          
"Jungkook!" he shouted, hearing his voice echo around him. He heard something on the second floor and tried to find a staircase or something to get up. in his panic and hurry he noticed the stairs on the right and rushed up there, his shoes stepping on the iron rusty stairs. they looked like they would break any moment, but that was the least of his worries now. Taehyung almost tripped when he got up and a box was right in front of him. 
                          
''Kook?" he said, stepping over it into a new room. inside he could see drops of blood on the ground. worry rising more and more. He headed further into the warehouse listening to the sounds. but there was nothing to hear other than his own breath. "Ju-ah!" he let out a surprised yelp when someone jumped from behind the wall and aimed a gun at him.
                          
"Taehyung!? what are you doing here?!" Jungkook asked, lowering the gun. his face was filled with panic as soon as he noticed taehyung here.
                          
"It's a trap, I saw a police car!" taehyung said.
                          
"I told you to wait!!'' Jungkook gripped his hair and kicked a box. "You shouldn't have come here."
                          
"I had to let you know, they will kill you!" Taehyung said and waved his arms stressed. "And besides I can shoot too, I can help!"
                          
"The place is trapped! they will blow it all to the ground!" Jungkook shouted. He was angry that Taehyung came here. this shouldn't happen. Taehyung shouldn't be here. He should be outside safe in the grass. but now he was here, both their lives were at risk. "I can't have you here!"
                          
"What?!" Taehyung shouted and hurried to jungkook. Suddenly there was a loud bang and the floor under them shook. Taehyung's eyes widened seeing the left wall crack. Something fell down and broke apart.
                          
"We have to get the hell out of here '' Jungkook said and grabbed taehyung's hand pulling him after him to the stairs. but before they would reach them something exploded a hot air waved over them, they covered their eyes feeling little pieces fly their way. Taehyung fell back from the smack of air. Jungkook was fast to pull his husband off the ground and run the other direction. there must be another stair on the other side for sure. at least a fire ladder. 
                          
One thing went on in jungkook's head. 'keep taehyung safe' nothing else mattered to him than getting his husband out of this situation. he didn't care if he died from it, he didn't care if he got sent to jail. He didn't care one bit. but he did care if taehyung got hurt a second time. He can't let that happen. Jungkook got a boost of energy to push himself more. Another bomb exploded and they saw red behind the doorway. they a shelf towards them from the wall. Jungkook's eyes widened hearing taehyung yelp and shrink, he raised his arms and caught onto the falling heavy object. "tae get out!" he shouted, the boy quickly did as asked and crawled away standing up. jungkook dropped the object and wiped his face where dust and sand had fallen on prickling his eyes. The air around them was getting hotter and hotter, the explosions set the wooden boxes and doors on fire spreading smoke through the warehouse.
                          
"I'm scared!" Taehyung shouted over the loud noises around them. Jungkook heard him clearly and nodded gripping taehyung's hand tightly in his, he did take a few seconds to give taehyung a peck on his head.
                          
"it will be fine, we are together" jungkook said, if anything were to happen then let it be together. together like taehyung wanted it to. like his husband had told him he wished to die. 
                          
"The window!" Taehyung pointed to the wall where the smoke was heading to see a small but opened window. The glass must have broken from the explosion. Jungkook rushed to it pulling taehyung after him, he didn't not have time to care if taehyung had trouble walking, this was life or death, and they had to at least try. 
                          
"Watch out!" Taehyung said seeing a red dot, but they noticed too late and another explosion went off knocking them both backwards on the floor. they saw a piece of roof fall down hitting the ground making it crack. It was old and unstable. "Jungkook! we have to get up!" Taehyung said, pulling Jungkook in his arm who was slowly getting up. a loud ringing in his ear from the loud explosion, he was dizzy from it. "hurry! you're not gonna die on me here you asshole!"
                          
"I'm not gonna die cupcake, don't w-worry" Jungkook said and got up. He fought through the dizziness. but it wasn't only the dizziness, the floor had turned sideways slightly. a supporting pillar had broken down, the floor was giving up on them. Taehyung could hear pieces cracking. the wind blowing dust and smoke around them. "fuck" jungkook said seeing no way out. 
                          
"What do we do?"
                          
"I don't know, I really don't know, '' Jungkook said softly. He couldn't reach Yoongi anymore, one of the explosions must have caused him to lose his earpiece. again they felt the ground shake and a wall collapsed in front of them. It dimmed a fire in their area and gave them a new way out. Taehyung didn't hesitate and ran for it pushing Jungkook forward to move. Which the raven did hurrying after him. Just when they were getting close Jungkook's eyes widened. another red dot right to their left. 
                          
"TAEHYUNG!" he shouted and jumped forward. a loud explosion was heard when he grabbed onto taehyung's shirt pulling him against him. they were knocked to the ground, but then it disappeared. there was nothing to fall on. there was air. It was hot and cold. they felt pieces of brick against their skin. Jungkook held onto taehyung tightly, hearing the boy scream when they fell. Everything collapsed one after another taking the two with them to the ground. Then it all came to an end, Taehyung felt their bodies hit something hard followed by pain all over. 
                          
Everything was silent. He didn't hear the sounds anymore, he didn't feel anything anymore. it was cold... struggling he opened one eyelid and looked ahead seeing raven hair. "j-j...koo" he whispered and moved his hand up. jungkook laid next to him his hand trapped under taehyung's body the other on his chest, he laid on his back with his head sideways. His eyes were lidded, not blinking even once. his chest frozen in place. There was blood, he saw the red color. With a heavily shaky hand taehyung grabbed jungkook's hand and brought it to his lips, he placed a kiss on it. then he laid it gently on jungkook's cheek before he lost his strength and everything turned black.
