CHAPTER SIX: TALK

                                    

                                          
You and zui ran around the woods for a while, the guards did put up quite the fight. They chased you two to the depths of the woods until you had lost them. You watched from the shadows as they retreat to the village, thinking they had lost where you two are. 
                          
You heard a thud besides you and the branch you were kneeling bounced a bit before relaxing, "Alright so first things first-" you heard zui spoke besides you. 
                          
"Those rats are so annoying-" she paused "-second, what you did in the central square was badass as hell but-" she then smacked the back of your head and you yelped in return. "Why the fuck do you that's a good idea?" She scolded. 
                          
You groaned in pain and rubbed the spot where she smacked you, "Look- I didn't mean it okay?-" you started before you paused.
                          
To be honest, you're not quite sure why you went there to the first place. Seeing the poor man get beheaded infront of many people just angered you, before you know it you were engulfed in rage and you were infront of many people fighting the warden. 
                          
"Well?" Zui spoke, waiting your explanation. 
                          
You stayed quiet, not knowing what to reply. Usually when you witness a random public execution you'll just let it go, maybe this time you were engulfed in rage because they're killing a random person who's only crime is stealing. It's a small crime but it's still a crimecthey should've just put him in jail not kill him, killing him is too absurd. 
                          
Then, you remembered the Warden saying there's a new King. You haven't been keeping up with the news, you didn't even know that there's a new King. Whoever this new King is, they're brutal. 
                          
"Y'know what, let's just go back to the house." You stated. 
                          
You didn't gave zui a chance to reply for you had already jumped down the branch, you then started walking back. You can hear zui's footsteps behind you as well, "Oh and-" she paused, "Y/N?" She called out. 
                          
You hummed in reply, not looking at her. "Why did you bring your scythe with you?" She suddenly asked. 
                          
You paused on your track, you looked down on your hand to see your F/C scythe. You completely had forgotten that it's still in your hand, you groaned in annoyance- you're planning on going back to use your scythe, now that they've seen what weapon you use they're gonna use that as a guide to track you down. 
                          
"I was training to go back in close range combat, I can't always relay on stealing." You stated before you started walking again, "at some point there's gonna be a time we'll have to fight back."
                          
At that, zui fell quiet. 
                          
The following morning came earlier than you expected, you rose from your bed- still feeling tired. You can hear zui shuffling outside the room, with a tired yawn you forced yourself out your shared bed and lazed your way to the living room. 
                          
You opened the door to see zui shuffling through some chests, she was wearing the blue coat you bought her. She partnered it with black jeans and a pair of brown boots with a little heel in it, not really fit for combat. "Hey." You spoke, catching her attention. 
                          
She perked up and turned fo you, she smiled and waved. "Hellooooo" she replied, draging the 'o' in her greeting. 
                          
She then continued shuffling through the chest, "what're you looking for?" You asked, trekking to the table and sitting on the chair. 
                          
"Arrows, I think we're running out of them." She simply replied, you hummed in return. 
                          
"Wanna go buy some?" She then turned to look at you, "We're going to the village?" She asked, worried. You nodded, "Yeah, it's not like they saw our face or anything." You replied.
