It was Sunday and Kirishima was hanging out with Sero, Kaminari and Shinso in the electric quirk users room.
The pierced boy couldn't stop thinking about what will happen in the future. What will happen with his friends? Will his friends die? Will he be able to move after using his quirk non stop for work?
He was worried but he couldn't push away the thoughts so he brought it up "Do you guys ever think about how your quirk will effect you long term?" "Nah man, I'm sure nothing will happen though!" Kaminari replied lightly. "Why'd you ask?" Sero, who was sitting on the bed, inquired. "Oh, no reason, just thought about it" the red head answered.
Shinso sent him a little glance, "I'm getting a coffee, Kirishima come with me" "Alrighty". The two boys left the room and went to get the elevator.
"You seemed pretty stressed out back there, do you want to talk about it?" Shinso was the first to speak up "oh no it's okay man!" The red head replied still looking a little uneasy. "Just get it out of your system, it'll help you feel better" the violet haired boy agrued "fine" he gave in.
"I was just thinking about the long term affects of everyones quirks and the constant use, something bad will probably happen, someone might die! I don't want my friends to die because of the hero society... I don't know if I can do this anymore" the violet man just stared in awe, he never thought about those things.
The elevator dinged and they stepped out. "Hm, I've never really thought about that, are you thinking of moving schools?" Shinso questioned heading for the exit to the dorms. "No, I don't have the time or money for that" kirishima looked at the floor annoyed, he wasn't angry at Shinso, he was angry at himself that he was so weak now. "Why's that?" The boy raised a violet eyebrow in question, opening the door for the two of them heading for a coffee shop near by.
"Things changed over the summer, they changed really fast" Kirishima answered vaguely. "How so?" Shinso asked. "Well. No, I'm not bothering you with my sad life, what did you do this summer?" The red head tried to change the subject. "Stayed home, not much. Now continue, only if you want to of course" Shinso prodded a bit more.
"Fine, I'll tell you, just please don't tell anyone, promise me" kirishima pleaded. "I promise" the tired teen replied. "I came out to my mom and got kicked out, I had to get an apartment and job really fast, I slept on a park bench for almost two weeks. But it's fine now! I have an apartment and I get money for rent and stuff so it's no big deal. Plus I'm totally over my mom" the red head started quietly, voice becoming gradually more normal.
"I'm sorry for sticking my nose in your business kirishima" Shinso told the boy who was crossing the street. "No worries man".
They got to the side of the street where the coffee shop was. Kirishima held the door for Shinso "how gentlemanly" the boy laughed lightly at the gesture. They went to order their drinks.
"Oh my god! You guys go to UA, right?" The lady taking their order said. "Um yeah, we do" the tired boy replied. "You guys were sooo cool in the sports festival" "thanks" Kiri replied.
She handed the boys their drinks and continued "We're like around the same age, we should totally hang out some time, my friends would get so jealous" "uhhh-" Shinso started but got interrupted by The red head "No thank you, I have no interest in making friends with people who will just use me for getting fucking clout" he finished with a smile and headed for the door with Shinso.
The lady had her mouth slightly agape, as did the Violet haired boy. "I'm friends with Bakugo, it was bound to happen" kirishima scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "What did you get" he asked changing the subject "Cappuccino, you?" The tired boy asked in return. "Black coffee, I don't exactly like milk and I need to stay off sugar" just thinking about milk made Kirishima shiver. Milk reminded him of a dare he got as a kid, drink an entire bottle of gone off milk, never again is milk entering my mouth he thought.
"You can go back to the dorm if you want, I just want to get something in here" kirishima said pointing at a shop. "I'll go with you, I have time".
The boys entered the shop and the red head immediately went to the candy isle. He picked up a packet of spicy candy and went to the register, the other boy just following along.
At the register Kirishima aslo got a packet of gum for himself. "Is that all?" The cashier asked politely "yes thank you!" Kirishima put down the money and smiled.
Exiting the store Shinso asked "What'd you buy?" "Bought gum and some of Bakugos favourite sweets.. want a piece of gum?" Kirishima offered "no thanks, I'm good".
Back at the dorms the boys split up, Kirishima went to Bakugos door and Shinso went back to the hangout.
The red head knocked on the door. A few seconds later a slightly annoyed Bakugo opened. "What do you want?" The blonde asked gruffly "just brought you something" he handed Bakugo the sweets and turned to his door. "Whatever" the blonde closed the door again.
Kirishima unlocked his door quickly and locked it immediately after he stepped inside. He put his back against the door sliding down it until he sat on the floor. Tears started to pour silently out of his eyes.
Why did I make friends here? Why didn't I realize how stupid I was being? They're all going to die, you're going to die, you'll die in a dumb way, you won't even be missed, just another hero fucking gone. It'll be a lucky day for whoever takes your rank.
Kirishima slowly got up and went over to his bed, he decided he didn't want to deal with his head right now. All he could hear was you're pathetic and weak, you won't even make it as a hero. The boy closed his eyes and drifted off into sleep.
