He stalked towards her in a way a predator would stalk his prey. If only he knew how the game would change and he would be the prey.

The prey of her wrath.

She softly set down her bag on the pavement and removed her black scarf. All this time she had a calm expression on her face.

She slowly walked towards him eyeing his every movement.

"I see you aren't gonna answer my question, sir. Well if that's what you want."

Crack

Her fist collided with his face, breaking his nose and creating a satisfying crunching sound that slightly echoed through the alley.

Her attack took him by surprise and the syringe fell from his hand. She caught it effortlessly and threw it making the purple-pink fluid spill out of it.

She wondered what it was and why he wanted to inject her with it. But whatever it was, it wasn't good.

"YOU PATHETIC CREATURE. YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT."

He ran towards her yelling a battle cry, fist raised ready to punch her. She caught his fist as his hand trembled to free himself.

She twisted his arm breaking it. A shrill shriek escaped his lips.

She used his pain as a perfect diversion and landed a punch in his gut. He groaned in pain.

But she didn't stop. She grabbed his hair in a fist, brought it downwards and kneed him hard in the face. Very hard.

She was pretty sure his hand and nose were broken and that her wrath would have left many bruises.

Blood spurt from his mouth and his eyelids began drooping. He could faint anytime. 'So weak' she thought.

"Tell me who sent you here."

He didn't respond. He mumbled a few incoherent words under his breath before collapsing.

A frustrated groan left her lips as she realized that he was now completely useless to her. Throwing him away into a corner she walked back to take her bag and scarf.

She turned around walking until she reached the bifurcation. This time she took the right path.

She looked around to see nobody except him.

''Aldric,'' she whispered under her breath.

Her heart did leaps and her stomach clenched slightly.

Exhaling deeply she continued walking, trying not to be seen by him but stopped when she heard him call her name. She didn't turn around, just stood still.

Half of her mind wanted her to keep walking, while the other half just wanted him.

She heard rushed footsteps and they stopped when she felt his breath on the exposed part of her neck. He was so close.

''Estella." he breathed out her name.

Merely the sound of her name from his lips made her flutter her eyes close and softly bite her lower lip.

She finally turned around to face him and looked into his eyes to see worry lacing in them.

"Oh, Stella. You hadn't reached home. I have been trying to find you for such a long time." he grabbed her shoulders and hugged her tightly.

"Take me to your home." Estella muttered weakly. His home was quite close to hers.

"Sure Ella. Of course. I'll contact your father about it." he agreed, holding her hand in his.

Her mother had died during childbirth and she had been living with her father ever since.

"Thanks, Aldric." Estella thanked him, throwing her bag on the bed.

"No problem Estella. I would do anything for you." Aldric said honestly, smiling at her. "You fight very well." he added quietly in a soft voice.

His soft voice and beautiful smile had an immense effect on her.

Estella looked at him with wide eyes. He held her gaze. They stared at each other for such a long time.

All she wanted was to confess. Should she even do it?

Not a word was said between them. Yet their eyes seemed to hold a conversation.

He leaned in towards her and kissed her softly. Cupping her cheeks he confessed, "I love you Estella."

"I love you too Aldric."

They couldn't hide their feelings for one another. This was bound to happen. That was their destiny.

That night they became one. Nine months later she was born; their beautiful, pretty daughter.

Esmeralda Arquette.
