Inside Jack's house, I received the hugs and kisses from my old friends and it was a pleasant feeling. Dior hugged me for minutes, not letting go off me and Pearl was fuming here. "Dior," I whispered to her and she shook her head on me.
"I never thought I'll see you again," she sniffed in her tears. "I'm so glad you're here Aiden."
"Me too." I pulled out of her embrace and touched her face. She got prettier. "I'm sorry for leaving,"
"It's fine. You're here now." She smiled at me. Cece and Layla ran to me and pushed Dior off. They hugged me and squealed loudly.
"We miss you Aiden!" They said. Pearl cleared her throat and I pulled out of their embrace too. Jack was avoiding Layla here and I was not surprised. Their same old love bullshit. My phone rung in my pocket and I excused myself out of the noise to one of the rooms here.
I answered Ava's video call and sat down on the bed. She was seated on her bed, elbows on her knees and she did not look good. "I need someone to talk to." She said.
"I'm here. You can talk to me."
She sniffed in tears and ran her hand in her messy hair. "I want things to go back to the way there were before, Aiden. I'm not sure I can deal with all these heartaches anymore."
"Did something happen again?"
"Chase was here," I raised an eyebrow at her. I thought she was done with him. "He brought back my car and he wanted to talk but I couldn't face him. Mom is just crying in her room, throwing things around and she doesn't even want to talk to me." She wiped off tears and sighed. "If you were here, I wouldn't have to go through all this. Can't you just move back here?"
"Why don't you move in with us?"
"And leave my mom here?"
"That's the exact situation I'm in. It's hard for me too. If I leave dad's side, he will be devastated. He's going through it too Ava. I confronted him today and he said he didn't do anything with my mom. He's a bit messy sometimes Ava but I know he still likes Mr's Thora. If you and I keep trying to defend them, it'll make things worse. We have to try to bring them back together. That's the only way we can live together again."
"So what you're saying is, it's either dad or me?"
I groaned. "Did you hear anything I said to you Ava? I am trying to work things out here. Maybe if you stop trying to fight with me too, things will be a little bit better." I said to her and she wiped another tear off. "I want you. I'll choose you every time over anyone and you know that too but Ava, I don't want our family to fall apart. It will kill us both if this keeps going on."
"I want you too so please... just come back to me. I don't want to deal with this another day without you." She pleaded with me. Now, talking to her like this, I did understand why people assumed we had a thing going on. Our choice of words have always been misleading.
