"I think this is okay, right love?"
Winter roamed her eyes around the unit. It has a veranda and the room is spacious. Maybe because it's still empty.
"2 bedrooms, not so bad." Karina hugged the younger's back as she rests her head on her shoulder
"It's beautiful.. we can pay this bit by bit right?" Winter pursed her lips
Turns out, her salary isn't much high than Karina's. She isn't a professional Engineer yet, it will take some time to earn more money than she expected.
"Don't worry, I can take care of it. Just tell me if you're struggling, I can cover for you." Karina planted a smack on her cheek as she walked towards the two rooms
Winter followed her, "We can sleep here together, then the other room will be our work room. How does that sound?" Karina squealed
She couldn't wait to move in and fix their things together. Hell, she would jump right off that building just to get their stuff so they could sleep there that very same night, that's how excited she is.
It was so surreal. Wasn't it just yesterday when they were planning the future together? It was hard to find an apartment in a business city so they ended up finding a condominium unit, Winter wanted it to be empty so she could fix the interior and design it the way they want.
"Hi, yes! We'll take the unit, please call me once you're done processing the papers! Okay!" Karina brightly talked to the woman who offered that unit to them.
She jumped on Winter unexpectedly but the girl catched her just fine.
"Any days from now we could move in here, you can design our room, we'll fix our things and we'll sleep together without worrying about anything." Karina stared at her with loving eyes
"I love you, Winter." She solemnly stated.
"I know," Winter replied
Karina suddenly cupped the younger's face and leaned in for a kiss. Winter grabbed her back to support her weight. Like before, they would forget how to breathe and the effect will always remain the same.
It was going just fine.. too fine they thought that feeling will last forever.
....
"Hello," Karina greeted the receptionist and went through her desk to check some files on her computer. It's her routine at work, she'll sit there for almost an entire day, pass the workloads her dad will give her and then come home exhausted.
Everybody knows she will become the next heir of the Damzel Corps. But, she couldn't care less. This work environment isn't something she would want to spend her next few years.
She was busy browsing on it when Winter called. She put it on her ear while her shoulder supports the weight of the phone. Her hands were too busy scrolling and typing.
"Yes, love?" She answered
[Have you eaten lunch?] The girl reminded her
"Not yet, but I will after this, how about you?"
[I'm at the unit, I added some tiles and fixed the ceiling.. I'm with Giselle actually, I asked for help.] The girl whispered the last sentence
Karina's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Okay then, why are you whispering?"
[We'll have to talk to Ningning and Giselle after this! She looks in pain.. I think she's restless for a month now] Winter sighed on the other line
Karina massaged the bridge of her nose.
"I'll talk to Ningning later, you go talk to Giselle. I have to go love, I have packed schedules. See you later, I love you." Karina ended the call before the girl could even answer back
She sighed. Wanting that day to end so she could have a powerful nap around Winter's arms. Just the thought of seeing the girl later energizes her. She wanted to throw tantrums at her dad but she's not a child anymore and plus she'll need the money to support their needs.
.....
"Hi auntie, is Ningning there? I've been calling her but she's not answering." Karina said, clutching her phone in her hands, she rushed there after work so she could check on the girl
"Come in, come in! Haven't Ningning told you about it?" Mrs. Yizhuo asked
Karina arched a brow, "What do you mean?"
"Her aunt asked her to help in their company for a year outside the country, didn't she tell you that? Good gracious that girl, don't worry as soon as she calls me I'll let you know. That girl really is a pain in the ass," Mrs. Yizhuo stated
Karina was stunned for a second, she didn't know what to say. How come the girl didn't tell them anything?
"When did she leave?" Karina mused. Her heart aches for whatever reason.
"Just last week, she said she will hang out with you girls, but from what I'm seeing now I think my daughter lied." Mrs. Yizhuo sighed, feeling bad about all this
"It's fine auntie, I'm sure she had her reasons. I-I gotta go," Karina waved her hand and ran, she's hurt.
She thought of Giselle, did she know? Or maybe just like her the girl was clueless? Did they.. broke up?
Those thoughts kept coming in her mind, she's going crazy but at the same time.. she's worried about them.
....
"Hey, where is she?" Karina greeted Winter, they're still living with Giselle sometimes because they're not done fixing their own unit
"She didn't say anything, I'm worried. This isn't like Giselle," Winter hugged her, feeling melancholic all of a sudden
Karina bit her lower lip, fighting the urge not to cry.
"Did you try talking to Ningning?" Karina asked her
Winter released from the hug with a confused expression plastered on her face
"I thought you'll talk to her?" She mused
Karina shakes her head, "Ningning left."
Winter eyed her, waiting for the next words to come.
"And?"
"She left us, I don't know to where. Fuck, I think this is why Giselle has not been acting like herself," Karina grabbed her hair in frustration
"Hey, calm down! What do you mean?" Winter soothed the latter
"She left the country, she left us.. without e-even saying goodbye! How hard could that be? If I see her again I'll choke her to death," Karina wanted to cry but tears won't come out
Winter's mouth fell agape, she took her phone and stared at it for minutes
"We just talked yesterday.. why would she leave?" Her heart broke, she doesn't understand. Is it real?
Maybe it really is, and now that she think of it. Giselle is the one who's the most in pain out of the three of them.
They wanted to console her, but at the same time, they want to give her the time and space that she needs.
They were together.. afterall.
