Leahs POV
Carlos led me back to his moms room and told me to get to sleep. That was all he could tell me? I just shot a man, confessed my love for his best friend who, didn't answer me. And he didn't even comfort me? Whatever I need to leave. I closed the door behind me and sprung into action.
I walked into the closet and changed out of the sweatpants and over sized T-shirt. I grabbed a pair of leggings, a black crop top and a leather jacket. I was wearing my nikes so I kept them on. I then walked over to the arsenal part of the room and grabbed a small knife and put it in a thigh holster.
I walked over to the window and saw it was only about 15 feet up so I opened it, jumped and parkour rolled. I had made it out and now I was going to Trishes house, it was only a block away. I sneaked past the side of the house but would have to pass in the driveway to leave.
All of a sudden a car pulled up and out stepped a woman. She had Carlos' facial features. So this was his mom. She had curly blondish brown hair, brown eyes, around 5'5 and she was ripped. She eyes me up and down. Then I remembered I was in her clothes. She grabbed her gun and aimed it at me.
"Who are you?" She asked me calmly with an Italian accent.
"Carlos' friend" I tell her trying to appear nonchalant.
Her eyebrow quirked "then why do you have a knife?" she inquired.
"It uh makes me feel safer?" I respond with more of a question than a statement.
"Turn around and head inside. Let's see if you speak the truth." She tells me. And because I decided I didn't want to die quite yet I obeyed. I sighed in defeat turned and headed up to the front door.
I knocked on the door and Josh opened it. His eyes lit up with surprise when he saw me and Carlos' mom.
"Hi Mrs.Brusca" he smiles at her.
"Hi Josh can you get Carlos please?"
"Yes ma'am" he sends me a inquisitive look and I just shrug.
He leaves the door and brings Carlos to the front door.
"Carlos, is this girl your friend?" Mrs.Brusca asks him.
"Yes" he immediately responds.
She finally puts her gun back and pushes me inside.
"Leah how did you get out of the house? The room was fifteen feet up, even I wouldn't have risked jumping that." He immediately asks me.
"I guess I have bigger balls than you then Carlos" I tell him. I was pretty upset I got caught.
His mom seems to like the answer because she grins at Carlos and sits down on the couch. She looks at me and pats the spot beside her. I cautiously walk over and sit down.
"So tell me Leah how do you know my son?" She wiggles her eyebrows suggestively. I see Ash physically stiffen for a second before relaxing.
"Oh no not like that" I make sure she knows I don't like her son like that. I could however make Ash hurt like he made me. "He carried me into the hospital when I had my ankle broken and we worked on a project together" I tell her. Ash left the room as soon as I said that.
"Oh ok" she told me obviously not believing that I don't like her son.
"Well why are they keeping you here?"
"I actually don't know, I tried to leave through the front door, they didn't let me so I jumped out a window." I tell her honestly. Not forgetting to glare at Carlos and Josh.
