Surprisingly everyone took the news of Felix being my mate well. It was once we got back home that things went south. Alexandru was pissed about me bringing back a vampire. He tried to convene the council to have me removed. That didn't pan out well for him. The Elders were quite interested to meet my newest mate. They also told Alexandru that he should be careful that his actions don't cost him his position as head of the Death Dealers. 
No one sees Jason much anymore. He's avoiding all of us. Though he seems to be getting quite cozy with a werewolf we recruited from Ireland. The first time we caught them hooking up in the conference room, Brent tried to rip his head off. It took Reauwyn, Felix, and myself to contain him. Something has to give soon. I can't take much more.
"Reauwyn get your guys together and meet me in the conference room in ten minutes." announced Alexandru before walking off. 
~~~~Ten Minutes Later~~~~
"Our attacks have been a huge success. Three-fourths of their population have been completely wiped out across Europe. Unfortunately, they have regrouped and made new plans. According to the rumors the remaining plan to flee to the US. I don't know where they are hiding out, so it is unlikely that we can finish the job before they leave the country. They have decided to change their tactics and plan to take over North America since their packs are untrained and inexperienced. Not to mention they will be able to replenish their numbers with the covens over there. I want to send all but fifty of us to the US to head up a counterattack, and I want this team to lead the effort. Particularly Reauwyn and Wren."
"How will that work? I've been over there. The packs aren't particularly welcoming nor appreciative of our help." said Reauwyn. 
"We don't need them to be welcoming or appreciative. We just need them to be willing to work together. I have secured a meeting between you guys and the Alpha council to take place in one week." Alexandru replied.
"All of the Alphas?" I asked. 
Alexandru shook his head before saying, "No, not all of them. There are too damn many for all of that. Not to mention trying to control all the packs would be next to impossible. The meeting is between the Alphas of Alabama, Florida and Georgia. You'll meet in Albany. The Red River Pack has graciously agreed to provide the location for our meeting since they are in a central location. That won't be a problem will it Wren?"
Rising from my seat I said, "Of course not. If you'll excuse me I have somewhere I need to be."
~~~~Later That Evening~~~~
"Can we even consider this hiding anymore schatz?" asked Felix. 
"I guess not. I mostly come up here to think these days more than to hide out." I replied, "Why do you call me Schatz?"
"Because you are my greatest treasure. So what are you thinking about?" 
"That's the million-dollar question these days right? Everything. Nothing. I don't even know anymore. I don't want to go back to America. Especially not my old pack. They're awful people. Reau and I tried to help them before. A couple years ago and it did not go well. Most of those packs despise my kind, and I'm sure they'll treat you poorly too." I answer.
"We only need a couple of packs to join us, not all of them Wren. I'm positive we can find at least two decent packs in the country. And as far as their prejudices go: Fuck 'em! I love you regardless of whether you're a full-blooded werewolf or not. You love me even though I'm a vampire. Love is love my darling and if they're too closed-minded to see that, then that is their problem not yours." reassured Felix while rubbing circles on my back. 
"When did you get so wise?" I asked with a chuckle. 
"I've been alive for 218 years Wren. I'm past due for some wisdom," said Felix, "but can I ask you a question?"
