WHAT THE ACTUAL fuck is going on, was all FREYA could think as she stared at the tv screen in front of her.

It was her and JACK's monthly film night where they'd actually spend 'real bonding' time together ( according to him ) instead of just casually hooking up and drinking. And this time they found themselves watching The Bourne Identity, where Freya had made the mistake of spending the first hour of the film on her phone so now ended up knowing nothing that was going on.

That was definitely the opposite to the man who's chest she was laying on, who was dedicatedly staring at the screen, unusually enjoying it, not focusing on anything else going on despite his phone going off nearly every minute - greatly annoying Freya.

It was kind of cute to her though how dedicated he was over this film she couldn't understand a thing of, however she couldn't personally stand to sit through another second of noise as she swiftly excused herself into the kitchen without even the slightest acknowledgement from her friend.

She'd learnt by now there wasn't often food in his house ( which was odd considering the amount he earns every minute ) and was further amplified when Freya had to turn up with a food shop nearly 4 times now, so instead of rifling through cupboards trying to find some non-existent snacks she went straight to the drinks cabinet.

She wasn't a heavy drinker - she often got a bit tipsy at parties and when she was with her mates, but usually she wasn't one to overly drink and make reckless decisions, but at this point she'd moved past being in her comfort zone with any situation.

Opening the cabinet she was faced immediately with a bottle of expensive looking champagne, classy - can afford champagne but not any food, she thought to herself as she picked up the bottle prepared to look at the price on the back. Jack couldn't take prices off anything for the life of him, there were CDs from when he was a teenager still lying around upstairs with prices and receipts in them.

£700, reasonable I guess Freya laughed to herself as she looked at the price on the label and deciding to leave it just in case it was special and find something more enjoyable, but as she tried to place the bottle back down on the shelf a small piece of paper flew down and landed just next to Freya's foot.

Confused, after placing the bottle back she bent down to pick up the folded piece of paper with a small slice of worn out tape blowing around next to the open window, obviously it had been taped to the bottom of the champagne. 'For a special day' was written in scrawny handwriting on one side of the fold and when Freya opened the picture she was greeted with one she had not seen for a long, long time.

It was a picture from the first night the two had met, both of them were pissed out of their minds and it was taken by MAJA's very shaky, drunk hand as the two were just about to leave BEN's house together, to start whatever was going on now. She slowly traced her thumb across the picture as she observed it, she'd completely forgotten this picture existed as she'd deleted any photos from that night in case Ben somehow looked at her camera roll.

"Frey?" She heard the familiar brummie voice call from the other room as she stood looking at this photo of the two of them together, snapping out of whatever trance she'd found herself in, Freya quickly taped the note back onto the champagne and shut the cabinet; quickly before scurrying into the main part of the kitchen where Jack had just walked in.

"The film finished, what you up to?" He shrugged, opening the fridge to take out a can.

"Oh just looking for something to drink." Freya nervously replied, smoothing out the hem of her dress as she sat down on the island. Jack nodded in response, joining her while he typed into his phone ( presumably answering all the messages he'd ignored during the film. )

"Jack I want to answer you." Freya quickly breathed down, not looking at the man next to her and instead straight ahead at the plain, white wall.

"Sorry?" He answered, confused, however did not look up from where he was typing.

"The question you've been asking me everyday for the past 3 months, I've decided my answer."

And in a moment of realisation Jack stopped typing and froze on the spot, he didn't expect this at all and instead of trying to form a response, he found his mouth could not move an inch - this was what he'd been waiting for for months on end and now it came he couldn't seem to get any words to form, because what if the answer wasn't what he wanted?

"And it's okay." She quickly said, placing her hands firmly on the table, inhaling slowly out.

"Okay?"

"Yes okay. You asked me what we were and my answer is okay. We're okay. I'm okay. For the first time in my life I'm okay and that's because of you, you've made me feel wanted and not worthless and now I'm okay."

And without any moment of hesitation or any opportunity for Freya to regret what she's said, Jack quickly embraced his arms around her: pulling her closer into him.

"If that's what we're going with, you make me feel okay too." He spoke as she placed her head into his neck, as she fell softly into the embrace and took in the moment. He placed his hand over her hair as he started, "You are the strongest and best person I have ever met, Freya, I really-"

But before anything in that sentence could be continued Freya's phone began loudly buzz as she received a call.
"It's Ben. Be quiet quick." She said, placing the phone to her ear and answering.

"Freya, where are you?" Ben quickly rushed out as the sound of traffic echoed in the background of her speaker.
"At home?" She quickly answered, rushing out of the room and into the hallway.
"No you aren't. I'm outside your door, no ones in."

Shit. Was all Freya could think. She'd completely forgotten Maja had told her a few weeks ago they were coming to visit her in Birmingham this weekend but hadn't given her a time they would arrive.
"I'm just at a friends house at the moment, I'll be over any second." She quickly gleamed, trying to hide any source of panic that was in her voice and she quickly threw her heels on.

"We can pick you up, who's house are you at?" Ben said, as Freya heard the engine of their car turn on in the background. I'm absolutely fucked was all Freya could think in that moment as she watched Jack standing in the doorway of the hall, confused.

"Um you don't need to do that, I'll find my own way back" And with that, she hung up, not wanting to get into any argument or situation all she found herself doing was pressing the red phone button at the bottom of her screen.

"I'm sorry." Was muttered towards the confused man at the end of the hall, before Freya shut the door behind her and left without another word.
