Chapter Five

                                    

                                          
When you woke up, you were surprised that you still had Rose in your arms. The baby was looking at you with big eyes and happy smile. You couldn't help but giggle. "Hello, midget..." You tickled Rose. Rose laughed out in a pitched baby noises. 
You looked around and noticed that you were tucked nicely into bed. You turned to the desk and let out a squeal of excitement. An ipod?! It was wrapped in a neat bow in a your favourite colour. You picked it up and opened it up. No way!? It held all of your favourite songs. There was a note beside it. It read... 
Good Morning, My little bird. 
I remember you always talked about music. So, I thought of getting you a gift. I won't be here today until night fall. Do what you will but STAY AWAY from the fence.

Miranda. 
She got you it? You felt something light tingle in your heart. You leaned back and sighed. You don't remember ever talking to her about your music obsession. You weren't sure what to think of Miranda. For all you knew, she could just be trying to gain information to hurt or kil you. Why the 'love'? She sure as hell couldn't love you and you would never love her. This is not gonna be one of those stories were you just fall in love with some random murder. She killed someone!!! 
You ears picked up a sniffle from Rose. You looked over at the baby and noticed her face was getting all red. 'Here is comes' you thought as Rose began to cry. She was most likely hungry. You picked up Rose and rocked her a bit. "Hush now... Its alright... Auntie (Y/n) will find you some food... Somewhere." with Rose on your hip, you opened the bedroom door with furrowed eye brows. What if Miranda attacked you? This had to be trick. No one loved you. 
With a shallow breath, you opened the door. You had too many questions. You slowly walked towards the kitchen to get some food for Rose. There was a highchair in the corner of the room. "Well, that will work. Won't it, flower." you cooed and laughed at your neice. You pulled out the highchair and carefully put Rose in it. "There! Now.... Food." you sighed. Rose giggled. You opened a few cupboards then your heart sank. How? You picked up the baby food that Mia would make.
You swallowed hard. You found a small spoon and walked over to Rose. "Hungry?" you asked as you sat in front of her. Rose ate happily with a big smile. At least the food was not poison... 
You burped Rose then she yawned. You smiled and brought her to the baby room that Miranda showed you yesterday. You set her in the crib and stroked her cheek. "I'm going to find a way to get us out of here... Sleep well, Rose." You said and hummed.
You aren't sure why you felt so guilty. You used the ipod she got for you. You had only known the woman for a short while... But you wanted to learn more.
Ignoring your thoughts, you exited the house. You noticed a few crows watching you. Again? With the crow thing? You were beginning to get a little annoyed with the birds constantly staring at you.
Sighing, you continued to walk on. You exolored every single corner and crack. Trying to find a way to escape. You noticed the fence Miranda told yu to stay away from. Why would she tell you stay away unless there was a way out? A few crows landed in front of you and began to violently flap there wings. You raised an eyebrow. "Stop it please..." You said a little annoyed. You had never seen crows behave like this.
The crows stopped flapping and one flew off. The others kept their gazes latched on you. You walked over to the fence. There was a gaint whole in the middle. It seemed to lead into a forest. You heard a growl come from the forest. Panicked, you stepped back a little. 
A gaint creature stepped out of the bushes. Blood stained its fur. "OH.... Fuck!" you screached and sprinted away. The creature let out a huge roar and chased after you. Crows began to dive down and scratch at it. But their efforts went to waste. 
You heard a baby's cry and moved yourself faster. That was until you were knocked over by the creature. A loud scream escaped your throat. However, no pain came.
The creature was thrown off you with a large looking branch. You stared wide eyed. A hand gentle rested on your shoulder as Miranda stood in front of you. Her eyes were hard. She looked angry. The creature got up and snarled at her. Her eyes narrowed behind the bird mask. It launched for her and managed to knock her over. All that she could think about was why would these creatures attack her? She was the priestess of this village. 
You screamed her name in fear. You didn't want her to die. Why did you care about her? She managed to get a vine around the creature's neck as it clawed at her. She pulled it off with a wave of her hand. You stared wide eyed. She then snapped its neck. "Defects." she muttered under her breath. She tried to stand but then collapsed in on herself. 
You managed to catch her before she hit the ground. She looked pale and was losing a lot of blood. Her eyes met yours. You glanced around her to look for anything that might help. She looked as if she might pass out. "Miranda..." you whispered and held her hand while giving it a tight squeeze. "Stay awake... Please." the priestess groaned in pain. You somehow managed to pick her up. You wobbled a little on your footing. It was that she was heavy... You just had stick arms.
Miranda kept mumbling the name Eva. Your brows furrowed. Your walk back was harder than expected. As she was about to pass out she mumbled something you didn't expect. "(y/n)... I lov-" she didn't get to finish. The woman quietly passed out.
