JJ's POV
Emily and I had an interview with an adoption agency. After talking with Aaron, our parents and doing research, it's the best idea.

We had already turned in our personal info and background checks. We also filled out their survey about what kind of life we have.

"So what do you do for a living?" The lady asked. "Well I am the communications liaison for the BAU at the FBI L, and Emily is a profiler."

"Does that mean you do a lot of moving around and traveling?" She asked. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

Her tone made it sound like that was a bad thing. It isn't horrible. Right?

"Well, yes but we don't travel that often. Once a month at most, and the rest is just a typical 9-5." Emily replied.

"Okay. I think I've heard all I need. We will send you a letter with the results." She said, leaving us alone.

"Em. What happens? That didn't sound good. What happens if we aren't approved? I don't think I can handle it." She kneeled in front of me and held me face.

"Then we will find another way. Surrogacy or fostering out something. We will figure it out. And we will be together every step of the way. I promise."

I let out my breath and followed her to the car. We will find a way.

Emily's POV
It's been a couple weeks and I'm scared. I've been telling JJ that everything will be ok, but what if it isn't? I could be wrong.

If this doesn't work out she might get dark. Talking about kids has brought out a whole other side.

Jennifer Jareau was made to be the best mom ever.

She had been talking to Elle about pregnancy and stuff. I had been trying to come up with a back up plan.

"Emily! Come here!" I heard from the kitchen. I sprinted out and saw JJ with her back to me.

"What's wrong? Hospital, cops or fire?" I asked, frantic. "None. The letter came. The adoption one." She said, slowly turning around.

"Oh. Ok. Um. Do we open it?" I asked. She set it on the counter and put her head in her hands. "I don't know."

I grabbed it and tore the envelope open. I took a breath and pulled out the letter.

"To Mrs. and Mrs. Prentiss-Jareau, after a long background check and interview process..."

JJ grabbed the letter from my hands and read the rest out loud.

"We have decided that you are a fit household to raise a child. We will reach out with further information."

JJ dropped the letter and covered her mouth. "We did it. We're going to be moms. Emily!" I ran and picked her up.

"We did it!" I cried. JJ was wiping her tears as her phone rang. After a short call she turned back to me.

"They have a kid they believe will be a good fit. Like right now. Like we might be moms by midnight."
