Noah was right. He was right. He was right. It's all my faut. I should've listened to Noah.
If only I spoke! If only I wasn't so selfish! The troops surrounded us and started the attack. I saw hundreds of our people die in the scorching fire.
The smoke from their adust skin burned my nostrils. I saw red. 'I will kill you!'
I directed the little energy that remained in my body towards the man proudly sitting on his horse, watching his plan perfectly executed.
I focused my entire energy and striked with all I had but a dark mass got out of his hand as he swallowed my attack as if it was nothing.
What is that magic? What magic was powerful enough to swallow a light ray?
As he turned his gaze towards me with a contempt smile, he lifted his hand and directed the dark mass right towards me. A purple light came out of nowhere and a knight appeared before me.
"Caleb!"
She had stopped the attack but not with magic. As the man just turned and disappeared behind his troops with a smile, I saw her crumble before my eyes.
"Cal!"
I grabbed her and as she fell on my lap, blood was everywhere. It got on my face, on my hands, in my eyes.
The attack she stopped with her body, had cut through her."C...Cal! Cal! CAL! CALEB!
My entire body was shaking as I tried to heal the wound but there was no energy left. I couldn't cure her!
"HELP!"
I looked at the chaos around, bodies on fire running, slaughtered knights, smoking corpses. The screams slowly faded away as my mind went blank.
I looked down to the purple eyes on me.
"Caleb, Caleb, you just... just hold... I..."
She looked at me and smiled. She rarely smiled. It looked beautiful. Why is she smiling? Did I do something funny? Did I finally manage to make her smile? I have to remember what I did to do it again so that she can smile again like this.
I took her face in my hands. Caleb. My most precious friend. My first love.
Why are you closing your eyes? I want to see your beautiful eyes, your unique purple gaze. Caleb!
Let me see your eyes!
Why can't I see your eyes?!
A skinny body appeared in front of me. I looked at Noah's face and it was crying. No, he wasn't crying. He was agonizing. He was furious, he was vindictive, he was burning in grief.
'I should have listened to you. I should have... listened to you...'
"I should have listened to you, Noah!"
My voice cracked, speaking his name, acknowledging him, I gave up. He was right and I killed Caleb because I didn't listen to him.
My blood was boiling, everything was red. As I didn't even try to wipe the blood off my eyes, I was kneeling, a white noise in my head.
It was over.
I was over.
Nothing could stop it now, I had lost. None of it had a meaning anymore.
As I lifted my bloody gaze towards his dark eyes, I had already given up. Nothing mattered. I surrendered.
'You win.'
He walked to me and raised his hand.
Everything turned black.
