"Run you clever boy, Run for your life!"
It had been months now when you last saw the Baudelaire's; Violet, Klaus and Sunny. you've known them for years now and before the terrible fire, you were all close friends. It was like yesterday when you saw the fire trucks come around the corner in your street.
You knew something was wrong once you saw them take a turn towards the Baudelaire's house. You dropped everything, running towards them, hoping no one was home.
You felt your heart beat in your throat as you made the turn to see their burned house. The air was tick and burned splinters slowly made their way to the ground. You ran towards the fire trucks, hoping you could get more information about the state of it.
You dropped to your knees as you watched two persons being carried away, covered up in a white blanket. You couldn't control your tears anymore and held your hand in front of your mouth, shaking your head. "No!!!" you screamed as loud as you could. "Klaus!" you shouted then, hoping it wasn't his body.
You felt two arms pull you up and carry you away from the scene. "Y/n we have to go!" the person ordered you as they kept pulling you away.
"No! Please don't let it be Klaus!" you screamed out as the person had to hold you tight.
"We have to go Y/n!" the person called out again as he picked you up and carried you away, away from the tragic fire.
As you were almost out of sight, you noticed a blue car pull over with three unusual children inside. "Klaus?" you whispered soft as you watched him get out of the car alongside of his sisters. The Baudelaire's walked slowly towards their burned house as the feeling of being an orphan slowly started to sink in.
A sudden feeling of relieve overwhelmed you as you were taken away, out of sight. "They survived" was the only thing you were thinking about. You've never told him or made it clear that you secretly like Klaus Baudelaire, the middle child who is extremely smart and funny.
You were also smart but mostly you acted sarcastic and witty against him. You had a hard time showing your feelings and, in some way, your sarcastic personality was a way of showing it to him. That was the last time you saw the Baudelaire's, standing in front of their burning house.
For those following moths you have travelled to everywhere and nowhere. You were sitting in the car, going to another place. "Why do we even have to go to this place, the name says it itself" you said grumpy as you were leaning against the car window, watching the scenery outside change.
The person in front of you, in the driver's seat chuckled soft. "Always the optimist aren't we" he replied with a smile as you puffed annoyed.
The Baudelaire's had already arrived at the Vile Village, at the bank Mr. Poe gave them a brochure about a new program that allows an entire village to serve as a guardian. The Baudelaire's chose V.F.D an abbreviation to which the Quagmire's referred to. Little did they know that V.F.D. stands for Village of Fowl Devotees.
They had to take bus after bus to get to the village that was surrounded by crows. The council of elders were already patiently waiting for them to arrive. A warm welcome was far from what they received, they were notified that they had to do every chore for the entire village. Not the best welcome but they didn't expect any good one.
At least they could stay with Hector, the local handyman with some secret projects.
You were glad you finally arrived at the Vile village, hours after the Baudelaire's had arrived. The town square was abended as you got out of the car, you opened up the trunk to collect some western cloths to fit right in. You took a blue pants and a colorful shirt with you as you quickly rushed to a place where you could change.
